As Marie and her best friend Alex arrive at a sprawling suburban home belonging to Alex’s parents, they prepare for a weekend filled with studying and relaxation. Their time begins with a tour of the house, as Alex shows Marie its hidden corners. The evening culminates in a warm family dinner, providing a sense of normalcy before chaos disrupts their peaceful retreat.

When night falls, Marie retreats to her room, where she finds comfort in the soothing notes of her favorite music, seeking the solace that only solitude can bring. Unbeknownst to them, however, a sinister shift is on the horizon. Suddenly, the peace is shattered by the doorbell ringing. Daniel, Alex’s father, awakens and goes to answer it, completely unaware of the horror lying in wait.

As he opens the door, a malevolent figure emerges, brandishing a straight razor that marks the beginning of terror for the entire household. As the killer unexpectedly returns, dragging Alex away, Marie seizes her chance for revenge. She hides in their truck beside Alex and prepares for an escape from this waking nightmare. At a deserted gas station, amidst the chaos, Marie discreetly hands Alex the knife while she slips into the shop to seek assistance from Jimmy, the unfortunate store clerk. However, their plans spiral out of control as the killer enters, leading to the gruesome murder of Jimmy in front of her eyes.

In an act of desperation, she attempts to contact the authorities, only to be frustrated by her inability to communicate her predicament. Undeterred, she snatches Jimmy’s keys and commandeers his vehicle in a daring attempt to track down the killer, only to be met with violence as she follows him down a deserted road. As her determination leads to peril, her car is forcefully pushed off the road, leaving her injured and isolated. With nowhere left to turn, she flees into the woods, pursued by the relentless killer.

Driven by survival instincts, Marie retaliates with brutal force, striking the killer with a barbed-wire-tipped fence post. Upon inspecting the presumed corpse, she faces a shocking moment as the killer’s hand unexpectedly grasps her throat, forcing her to suffocate him with a plastic sheet. This brutal act is later revealed on a store surveillance tape, framing Marie as the perpetrator of the gas station murders. Yet, beneath the chilling surface lies a disturbing truth: Marie is delusional and exhibits a twisted romantic obsession with Alex—her friend who unknowingly stands as the victim in the wake of real tragedy.

In a tense encounter at the truck, Marie manages to free Alex, only to be met with hostility as he accuses her of his family’s deaths. The situation escalates violently when Alex strikes back, wounding Marie before she embarks on another chase, desperate for revenge.

As Alex attempts to escape by flagging down a passing vehicle, Marie reappears, wielding a concrete saw. In a gruesome act that shocks the very core of their situation, she brutally attacks the driver. Chaos erupts as shattered glass injures Alex, leaving him crawling for survival. Seizing an opportunity, Alex grabs a crowbar from the toolbox and plunges it deep into Marie’s chest, asserting that no one, not even her, will come between them.

In a haunting aftermath, Marie finds herself confined within a psychiatric hospital room, her eyes fixated on Alex watching her through a one-way mirror. With a maniacal grin and an outstretched hand, she reveals the chilling reality of her unyielding obsession, leaving viewers questioning the depths of her disturbed mind and the darkness of love gone awry.
