Kwon Yoo, a former national taekwondo champion, spends most of his days at an Internet Café playing games with his RESURRECTION teammates. His in-game persona, Captain, is highly skilled and carries the camaraderie of the group into real life.

After a gaming session, Kwon finds a stray smartphone and goes to the owner's apartment to return it. This small act inadvertently pulls him into a case that will test his life and reputation.

The following day, Kwon is arrested and accused of murdering a young girl. The case appears airtight: a murder weapon in his own apartment, his fingerprints and DNA at the scene, and security footage showing him nearby.

Under intense media pressure, the court swiftly convicts him and sentences him to life in a maximum-security prison. He maintains his innocence as he is moved into confinement and a harsh new world.

In prison, Kwon becomes the target of gang leader Ma Duk-su and is beaten during his first days inside. The early violence foreshadows the brutal world he must navigate.

His mother visits him in prison, assures him she is fighting for his freedom, and urges him to endure. Her words rekindle his resolve to clear his name.

A sympathetic inmate helps Kwon retrain himself, building physical and mental discipline. He gradually learns to fight back and eventually defeats Ma Duk-su.

News arrives that his mother has died by suicide, and Kwon escapes from prison, triggering a nationwide manhunt. He must vanish from the system to continue his fight for the truth.

Kwon seeks out Min Chum-sang, the public attorney who defended him, who gives him his mother's necklace and pledges to re-examine the case. The gesture rekindles hope that truth may still prevail.

Yeo-wool contacts Kwon and takes him to her city-outskirts house where the RESURRECTION teammates join him. They begin researching the case and uncover irregularities in the supposed evidence.

The team traces the crime narrative to its core and arrives at Noh Joon-young's apartment, discovering his corpse while Min watches and a team is shown staging a crime scene for the media.

So the killer is revealed to be the daughter of Chairman Chu, and Min's plan to frame Kwon is exposed. RESURRECTION sabotages Min's operation, and crucial data is transferred to prove the truth. Min is arrested and Kwon is cleared, with the team gathering for a final celebratory moment.
