Coup de Chance

In the seemingly idyllic life of Fanny and her husband Jean, a thin veneer of happiness veils an undercurrent of tension. Residing in a luxurious Parisian apartment, their professional accomplishments speak to their success. However, as time goes on, Fanny’s affection for Jean begins to wane, souring under her disillusionment with his morally ambiguous business practices that perpetuate the wealth of the already affluent.

The fragile harmony of their marriage is shattered when Fanny reconnects with Alain, a former high school classmate who has evolved into a writer harboring long-hidden feelings for her. Their reconnection ignites old emotions, leaving Fanny caught in a whirlwind of conflicting feelings between her residual love for Jean and the magnetic allure of her passionate encounters with Alain.

As their extramarital relationship intensifies, Jean becomes increasingly suspicious of Fanny’s altered demeanor. In a desperate bid to unveil the truth, he hires private investigators to gather any incriminating evidence of her infidelity. His worst fears are soon confirmed, leading him to take desperate measures against Alain, employing hitmen to orchestrate a ruthless plot to eliminate his rival.

Following the tragic culmination of Alain’s life, Fanny is left heartbroken, convinced that her former lover has chosen another over her. This heartbreak prompts her to create emotional distance from Jean, who, sensing an opportunity to reassert control, begins to manipulate her with promises of a hopeful new future, including visions of starting a family together.

Meanwhile, Camille, Fanny’s astute and insightful mother, becomes increasingly wary of Jean’s suspicious business dealings. As she digs deeper, she stumbles upon unsettling clues surrounding the questionable death of a former associate, previously brushed off as a suicide, heightening her concerns and skepticism towards Jean, which Fanny dismisses.

The veil of truth about Alain’s premature exit from her life slowly starts to lift as Jean meets his own tragic fate at the hands of another hunter, who mistakenly perceives him as the prey.
