Blood Freaks

Herschell meets Angel when her car breaks down on a Florida highway. He helps her reach her home safely. Angel then introduces him to her sister Anne and her friends.

Herschell is invited to stay with them while he gets back on his feet. He refuses to smoke marijuana, as Angel warned him, but Anne continues attempting to seduce him. Anne and her friends are smoking pot.

During the pool cleaning, Anne pressures him to smoke a joint. He finally gives in and begins an addiction.

Herschell gets a job at a local turkey farm and meets two scientists who test chemicals on turkey meat. They try to persuade him to participate by offering more marijuana.

The scientists bribe him with more marijuana to participate in the experiment by eating the turkey meat. He agrees and begins the test.

After eating the entire turkey, Herschell passes out and suffers a seizure. The seizure alarms the scientists, and they realize something has gone wrong.

The scientists dump his body in the woodlands to hide evidence. They hope to avoid any investigation into his disappearance.

In the woods, he awakens to find a giant turkey head and a craving for the blood of addicts. This bizarre transformation is revealed to be part of his drug-induced condition.

The turkey-headed Herschell seeks help from Anne and she initially agrees to assist him. However, their plan soon becomes complicated as his condition worsens.

To feed his addiction, Herschell kills three people. Anne then appeals to two friends to stop him by beheading him with a machete.

As the machete is about to strike, the scene abruptly cuts to Herschell waking up in the woods. The audience realizes the turkey-head sequence was a hallucination.

The turkey farm owner finds Herschell and contacts Angel at the rehab center. Angel arrives to collect him and urges him to pray, taking him to the center to begin recovery.

At the film's end, Herschell is reunited with a joyous Anne. Their complicated history lingers, but they share a moment of relief and hope.

Director Brad Grinter periodically appears to offer commentary on the action. His interjections frame the events with a self-aware, meta-commentary style.
