What Happens in Allari Alludu: Full Plot Summary

The whole story of Allari Alludu (1993) explained, from the opening scene to the final frame: every key event, every twist and what it all adds up to. Read it as a quick recap before the sequel, to check a scene you missed, or to finally understand what really happened.

Akhilandeswari is an arrogant rich lady who loves money dearly. She has two daughters: Sravani and Sandhya. While Sravani is as arrogant as her mother, Sandhya is a lover of poor people and values humanity like her father (Rao Gopala Rao).

Sravani arrives in town to study for a degree, where Kalyan is a canteen owner. Sravani finds Kalyan's bold nature and cool attitude highly demeaning, and her anger escalates when he teases her in front of all the college students. Sravani cleverly traps him, claiming she is in love with him and orchestrates his imprisonment during a rift at the college.

Kalyan decides to teach Sravani a lesson and enters Akhilandeswari's house as her associate, helping her navigate income tax issues. As the tax troubles mount, he suggests that someone in the family should take responsibility for the property. When no one volunteers, she offers Kalyan the position and also asks him to marry Sandhya. Sravani becomes distraught upon hearing this, and the rest of the film follows how the relationships among the lead characters evolve under the pressure of pride, duty, and love.

The story is framed by a contrast between wealth-driven arrogance and humanitarian compassion, with Sandhya embodying the value of helping others and Kalyan balancing humor with a sharp sense of justice. Throughout, Akhilandeswari’s authority and Sandhya’s moral compass pull the plot in directions that test loyalties, family ties, and the possibility of reconciliation. The evolving dynamic among the trio—Kalyan, Sravani, and Sandhya—forms the emotional core of the narrative, as the characters confront the consequences of choices made in moments of pride and affection.

Ramya Krishnan appears as Herself, adding a meta touch to the intertwining threads of wealth, power, and public perception.

Q1

Why did Sravani have Kalyan imprisoned?

Why did Kalyan infiltrate Akhilandeswari's household instead of seeking direct revenge?

Foreshadowing: The college clash showed Kalyan's bold but calculating nature, indicating he preferred strategic maneuvering over direct confrontation.
