Three college students—Kora Jagadish, Gopan Mukesh, and Bhakthavalsan Sreenivasan—share a house with their more earnest classmate Prem Shankar, a steady contrast to their lighthearted flirtations. Life in the shared home is a mix of jokes, schemes, and casual plans as they juggle exams, friendships, and the pursuit of complicated freedoms offered by youth.

Their chances for mischief collide with the arrival of Major Nair Nedumudi Venu, a retired officer in his fifties who savors the thrill of romancing younger girls. A quick clash of egos sets the stage for a bold and ridiculous bet: Nair learns that the trio has their sights set on his daughter Minu Lissy, and he dares them to actually make her fall for one of them. The challenge is both a game and a test of nerve, as the seniors imagine a way to outwit a man who has spent decades playing the field.

Minu is a sincere, compassionate young woman who genuinely cares for others, especially those who are disabled. She becomes entangled with Prem, whom she believes to be disabled, a twist that adds a farcical layer to the pursuit. But the others do not give up easily. Gopan slips into Nair’s household as a servant to gain access to Minu’s room, while Kora arrives posing as a disciple of a wrestler, and Bhakthavalsan presents himself as a Hindi scholar under the nickname Bhaktha Khanna, even claiming a famous lineage and landing the role of Minu’s Hindi tutor. Complications multiply when Govind Sreenath appears at Minu’s side dressed as a blind man, drawing sympathy and attention in unexpected places.

Major Nair’s home becomes a theatre of chaos as he stumbles upon all four interlopers at once. Yet he cannot reveal his own secrets—an awkward fear of a compromising photograph taken during a cabaret event keeps him from calling out the chaos directly. The tension thickens as the intruders’ ruses collide, and Nair’s fury seems to close in on everyone, forcing a desperate scramble to salvage reputations and protect a fragile secret.

Ultimately, the truth about Minu’s feelings surfaces: she loves Prem, and the bond between them is more honest than any of the schemes. Seeing the sincerity of their relationship, the most unlikely allies—Gopan, Kora, Bhakthavalsan, and Govind—set aside their bets and schemes to help Prem win Minu’s hand in marriage. In a finale that blends comedy with warmth, Prem and Minu marry, while Major Nair loses the bet and endures a half-shaved mustache as a humorous concession to defeat. The film closes on a note of reconciliation and amusement, with the house’s oddball ensemble realizing that love and loyalty can triumph over vanity and vanity’s bets.
