Callum arrives at a juvenile facility run by Jed, alongside Steve, Blue, Jethro, Lindsay, Davie and Lewis. The group harasses Davie and Lindsay; when Davie answers back, Steve and Lewis humiliate him by urinating on them. Davie later slashes his wrists and dies, prompting Davie's dad to learn of the suicide and triggering plans to send the group to an island for team-building.

The group is taken to an island for team-building. Callum is knocked out by an unseen force and is later found by the others. They swim and spot a campfire in the distance; Lindsay is captured. They meet a separate group led by Louise (with Jo and Mandy); Jed and Louise agree to keep the groups apart, while Jo and Lewis start a romance.

Steve and Lewis encounter a homeless man who attacks Steve with a stick. In self-defense, Steve kills him; later Callum discovers the man is dead. The incident marks the first lethal violence on the island.

Callum is caught washing blood off his hands and discovers his emergency phone is missing. Jed blames the group for the loss, which leads to anger among the survivors. To improve safety, Jed and Louise decide to merge the two groups.

The next morning, Jethro goes to fetch water and is attacked by something. Blue and Lindsay search and recover Jethro's dismembered arm from the water. The discovery signals the looming danger and sets a grim tone for the island.

The group is ambushed; Jed is shot with arrows, disabled, and then disemboweled as four dogs, controlled by a whistle, maul him. Louise sacrifices herself by leading the dogs away and is knocked off a cliff as the assault unfolds.

The survivors discover Jethro's body hanging from a tree with the letter D carved into his flesh. They find refuge in a cabin; Lindsay reveals that Davie’s dad is the killer behind the island horrors.

Blue makes a reckless attempt to rape Jo, provoking Lewis to intervene. Blue falls into a bear trap and dies; Mandy and Callum attempt to free him but fail, ending his life in the trap.

Davie's dad drives the remaining survivors out of the cabin with smoke, scattering them. Steve leaves Lindsay behind to fend for himself. They later find Louise alive but badly injured and move her to a safe, dry area while they search for a boat.

Davie's dad sneaks up on Louise in camouflage and slashes her throat, killing her. With Louise dead, the survivors split up again to search for a way off the island.

Steve and Lewis locate a boat, but the fuel line is cut and Davie's dad fires a flaming arrow, setting the boat alight. The dogs return; Steve and Lewis climb a rock while the others wade through the water, and Lindsay is captured to be used as bait for the dogs.

The dogs are recalled; Callum kills a dog. They discover Louise's head on a stick with Davie's name written in blood, a grim symbol of the killer's reach. Callum wounds Davie's dad with an axe, chases him with a crossbow, while Mandy confronts Lindsay, who confesses to orchestrating the killings before falling to his death. In the end, Callum and Mandy sail away on a boat, with Callum declaring that everyone died on the island.
