Pugazh Vijay ‘Villu’ is an IITian and Oxford alumnus with a master’s in chemical engineering. With the help of his relative Inspector Joseph, he tracks down a wanted criminal named Raaka and manages to trap him. The story then shifts to a village, where Pugazh attends the Tahsildar’s daughter’s wedding. There he meets Janavi Nayanthara, a friend of the bride, and is instantly drawn to her. After persistent wooing, he wins her heart and the two begin a high-spirited, hopeful romance that threads through his next bold moves.
Janavi takes Pugazh to Munich to introduce him to her father, J. D., a wealthy businessman who is secretly an arms smuggler. During their time in Bern, he runs into J. D.’s gang, a trio that includes a hotel pimp and another fierce hindrance, and a dangerous game of cat and mouse quickly unfolds. After tense confrontations, Pugazh begins taking them down one by one, turning the tables on J. D. and making him the sole remaining target. Janavi soon discovers that Pugazh intends to kill her father and she warns Pugazh’s mother about her son’s dangerous plan, creating a web of loyalties, fears, and moral conflict that unsettles everyone involved.
The story then digs into a deeper, more painful history. Pugazh’s father, Major Saravanan, was a patriotic Indian Army officer who died under shadowy circumstances on a peacekeeping mission. He confronted the corrupt units within his own ranks—J. D., Shaan, Raaka, and their henchmen—who were taking money from terrorists. In retaliation, those officers killed him and manufactured a tale to shield themselves, stripping Saravanan of his honors and badges and leaving the family humiliated. At the funeral, the community shunned them, Pugazh’s family was banished from the village, and the young Pugazh and his mother faced humiliation that scarred their lives. The mother reveals that she is not Pugazh’s real mother, sharing the painful truth behind his birth and the motive that drives his relentless pursuit of J. D.
In the present, J. D. brings Pugazh back to India to retrieve a Blu-ray containing highly sensitive information—material that Pugazh had previously received from Shaan and handed to Joseph for safekeeping. Pugazh realizes Raaka has escaped, and a dangerous chase ensues. Joseph is killed, Pugazh is injured, and Raaka is buried under the weight of a brutal confrontation. In a final, desperate act, a sandstorm unearths Pugazh, who then rises to kill Raaka and engage J. D. in a brutal duel. As a crowd of villagers gathers at the abandoned temple, Pugazh forces J. D. to confront the truth about his father’s death. After J. D. confesses, Pugazh kills him in vengeance for his father’s murder. With the truth about Major Saravanan finally laid bare, the army reinstates his titles, honours, and badges and returns his army badge and uniform to his grieving wife, closing a circle of disgrace and respect that had stretched across generations.
