Señorita Justice (2004) – Full Plot Summary & Ending Explained

Read the complete plot breakdown of Señorita Justice (2004), including all key story events, major twists, and the ending explained in detail. Discover what really happened—and what it all means.

In Miami, Anna Rios is a young lawyer who handles property agreements, but a brutal wake-up call pulls her back to the streets she grew up on. She discovers her younger brother was murdered in a gang-related drive-by, and she learns that her father has emotionally collapsed in the aftermath. Not one to ignore the pull of home, she steps away from her desk and returns to the hard streets she once called home to search for answers.

To untangle the case, she reconnects with her unlikely ally, Vanessa Ortiz, a transgender nymphomaniac childhood friend, and she even rekindles an old flame, Hector. Along the way, she crosses paths with two female detectives, Detective Edith Garcia and Detective Roselyn Martinez, who are also examining her brother’s death, though their reputation leans more toward hustle than flawless detection. As the investigation unfolds, the detectives begin to suspect that one of Anna’s old friends may have witnessed the crime, though that friend is not eager to cooperate.

That night, Anna sheds her expensive clothes for street attire and launches a personal crusade, adopting the street name Señorita Justice as she dives deeper into the case. Her pursuit leads her to Mo, a sleazy gang leader who answers to a ruthless local businessman, Manny Sanchez, who is intent on sparking a gang war to push out the neighborhood so he can push through a real estate deal. The chase grows riskier as Anna finds herself pursued not only by Mo’s gang but also by the two detectives and a dangerous female Yakuza assassin.

When Mo is killed in a drive-by, Anna starts to doubt her initial suspect list and shifts her focus back toward Hector, who admits he was with her brother that night but insists that he himself was the target, not the slain sibling. Plans to escape the neighborhood with Hector are cut short when he is also gunned down in a fresh ambush, leaving Anna bereaved and furious. She teams up with Vanessa to abduct Manny as he leaves his office, hoping to coerce a confession. But Vanessa reveals a devastating truth: she was the one who killed Anna’s brother, and Hector had been investigating Manny and was involved with Vanessa. Grief gives way to guilt as Vanessa lowers her guard, only to turn the gun on herself and take her life.

Fuelled by vengeance, Anna storms Manny’s world, dragging him to a seedy motel where the hired thugs who terrorized the neighborhood and killed Hector are found. She eliminates them in a brief, brutal shootout, then takes Manny down as well. Back at her law office, she confronts her former boss, Charles Adams, who has been orchestrating the entire scheme. A direct confrontation ends with Chiba, a brutal Japanese assassin sent to kill Anna, attacking in the building’s lobby. After a fierce hand-to-hand fight, Anna gains the upper hand and slashes Chiba’s neck with the cross necklace she wears.

With the killer defeated, Detective Garcia shoots Charles before he can shoot Anna. In the end, the two detectives arrive at Anna’s home to thank her for solving the case, and Anna declares she will stay in the neighborhood to help those in need and to open a law practice of her own. Garcia tells her to stay out of trouble, but the closing image shows Anna slipping back into her street clothes, ready to continue her double life as Señorita Justice.
