Timestalkers

Dr. Scott McKenzie and General Joe Brodsky attend a Wild West memorabilia auction in 1986. They win two steamer trunks and agree to split the contents between them. The haul begins a chain of discoveries that hint at a mysterious time-travel plot.

While sorting the trunks, McKenzie finds a photo showing men Cole killed long ago. He spots Cole in the background and recognizes a modern .357 Magnum in his holster, a contradiction to the image's age. The anomaly leads him to suspect time travel is involved.

A woman named Georgia Crawford approaches McKenzie, declaring interest in the past and revealing she is a time traveler from the 26th century. She joins him in investigating Crossfire for clues. They realize Cole's plan could unravel history itself.

Georgia uses a crystalline device to slip back to the 1880s and searches for Cole near a river. Her horse is spooked by a rattlesnake, but she defeats it with a futuristic gun. Cole observes from the shadows and follows her back to the present.

Georgia returns from the past and explains that she and others come from the 26th century. She identifies Cole as a renegade scientist who wants to continue researching time travel. The revelation deepens the resolve to stop him.

McKenzie and Georgia deduce that Cole intends to kill Matthew Crawford, an adviser to President Grover Cleveland, which would erase Georgia's family from history. They realize stopping Cole is essential to preserving the timeline. The mission now spans centuries.

Before they can relay their findings, Cole murders Joe Brodsky and escapes into the past to execute his plan. The betrayal makes clear how dangerous unregulated time travel can be. Present-day Crossfire is left reeling as Cole vanishes through the timeline.

They obtain a copy of the time-travel information that shows Cole is heading to July 11, 1886, the day the Star-Handled Stranger helped save the President. McKenzie and Georgia prepare to intervene in the past to derail the plan.

McKenzie and Georgia travel to 1886 and witness the attack on Cleveland's escort. The Star-Handled Stranger arrives to aid the defense but is shot dead by Cole, complicating their efforts to protect history.

With the Stranger dead, McKenzie claims the signature pistols and rides into the fray to confront Cole. He uses the legendary firearms to press back against the time-travel threat and protect the timeline.

McKenzie and Cole duel while Cole shoots Matthew Crawford. McKenzie defeats Cole in a one-on-one duel, but Crawford is wounded during the confrontation. The timeline momentarily remains intact, but the cost is high.

McKenzie and Georgia return to the present; Crawford is alive but wounded. Georgia gives him a gift and departs to her own time, passing along knowledge that allows McKenzie to prevent the deaths of his wife and child by altering the past.
