On October 6, 2022, Earth endures a brutal alien onslaught that tests humanity’s resolve. Captain Michael Raynor, Mark Hamill, commands a defense station as the invasion tears through the orbiting outpost, and he endures the heartbreaking loss of his wife Dorothy Raynor, Suzy Joachim, as the base falls. In a last-ditch escape, he slips away from the devastation, only to be pulled into a shimmering wormhole that hurled him thirty years into the past. He crash-lands on a world that feels both intimate and alien, forcing him to vanish into hiding while he tries to understand exactly when—or where—he has ended up.

Back on this older Earth, two scientists begin to unravel the mystery surrounding Raynor’s pod and its unknown origins. They study the craft and swiftly realize it is from the future, noting that an Indiana electronics company named in the parts does not exist. The Intelligence and Security Command (ISC) takes custody of the device and uses the findings to pursue a warning for the invasion. Raynor, meanwhile, makes contact with the scientists and explains his origins, but the stakes grow higher as the alien threat reveals itself. A Pod Scientist, Guyle Fraizer, assists in analyzing the components and confirms the future origin of the craft. As plans unfold, the scientists and ISC decide to seek out Senator John Neila to lay bare the danger. Yet a chilling truth emerges: Neila and the ISC are aliens planted long before as sleeper operatives. Karen Donaldson, Rae Dawn Chong, one of the scientists working with the flight data, is revealed to be an alien as well, and she hands the flight recorder over to the conspirators. Raynor’s visions haunt him—visions of his pregnant mother being murdered by an assassin—and he realizes that he is about to be born in a matter of hours. Desperate to alter fate, Raynor races to save his mother while Neila tasks Donaldson with ensuring the tragedy never comes to pass.

Flash forward to the future, where the aliens force a high-stakes confrontation at a secret base on Capitol Hill. Humans scramble to launch a nuclear strike, but Neila, now Earth’s President, attempts to negotiate with the invaders. He uses a cruel ruse to manipulate one crew member into surrendering his revolver, allowing Neila to kill the launch crew and secure a hollow victory for the aliens.

Returning to 1992, Raynor confronts the assassin and persuades his mother to go with him as she goes into labor. The baby is delivered en route, but the mother dies, and Karen Donaldson brings the newborn Raynor to Neila. Yet Karen experiences a shift of loyalty and protects the child from Neila. In a final, brutal confrontation, Raynor pushes Neila off a tall construction plant to his death, while Arnie, Gordon Tipple, kills Freeman, Mark Baur, the lead ISC agent. With Neila dead in 1992, the future Neila vanishes along with the timeline, but Raynor’s scream echoes in pain as the newborn Raynor is left in the care of Karen and Arnie.
