The Terminal Man

Harry Benson, a brilliant computer scientist, battles the challenges posed by epilepsy which causes him debilitating seizures and blackouts. Each seizure leaves him confused and surrounded by the destructive aftermath of violent outbursts that heighten his sense of dread.

Amidst his struggles, Benson's mental state deteriorates, his paranoia intensifying as he develops a fear that computers will eventually turn against their creators. This belief isolates him further, inhibiting his ability to seek normalcy in life.

Determined to find relief, Benson opts for an experimental psychosurgical procedure known as 'Stage Three'. This groundbreaking operation aims to implant electrodes in his brain to monitor and mitigate his seizures, a decision met with skepticism from his psychiatrist, Janet Ross.

Janet Ross, his psychiatrist, expresses serious concerns about the potential risks associated with the surgery. She fears the surgery may inseparably connect Benson's mind to a computer, possibly leading him into unpredictable realms of psychosis.

Initially, the surgery appears successful, with Benson showing signs of improvement. However, this hope is short-lived as the operation leads to unexpected consequences that impact his mental stability.
