The Haunting Hour: Don’t Think About It

Cassie Keller moves with her family into a new neighborhood and starts at a new school. She uses her goth persona to pull scary pranks on the popular kids, testing boundaries and boosting her own sense of control.

Priscilla Wright, the school's bully, is crowned Halloween Queen during the annual Halloween fair, fueling Cassie's resentment. The crowd's attention amplifies the social stakes Cassie is navigating.

Cassie retaliates against Priscilla's insults by placing live cockroaches inside the Halloween piñata. When Priscilla breaks it, she is showered with the insects, and the student body mocks her further.

That night, Cassie finds a mysterious Halloween store and buys The Evil Thing, a two-headed monster described in an old tome. The book warns not to read aloud or even think about it, but Cassie ignores the warning and reads it aloud that night.

That night, while her parents are away at a party, the Evil Thing is brought to life by Max's thoughts. It captures Max, Priscilla, and a delivery driver, creating a direct threat to Cassie and her friends.

Cassie seeks help from the mysterious store owner, who travels the world each Halloween in search of a person who loves to scare others. He leaves them with a cryptic clue about two heads working together and then disappears.

Following the owner's clue, Cassie and Sean deduce they can defeat the Evil Thing by throwing blood from a roast into it, provoking one head to attack the other. They prepare to lure the monster away while implementing the risky plan.

The Evil Thing's babies hatch and attempt to consume the victims, tipping the balance of danger in the house and forcing Cassie and Sean to improvise. They try to lure the monster away, but the creatures complicate their rescue.

Guided by Cassie, Max overcomes his fear and throws the blood onto the Evil Thing, causing the two heads to attack each other. The monster devours itself in a shower of yellow blood, killing itself and its offspring.

With the threat contained for now, Cassie, Sean, and Max manage to rescue Priscilla and the pizza deliveryman. They survive the night and reflect on the danger they've faced.

The trio burns The Evil Thing book and tries to move on, setting aside thoughts of the monster's danger. The act seems to seal the danger temporarily.

When Cassie's parents return home, the father mocks the book and reads it aloud, accidentally reviving the Evil Thing. The family realizes the monster has been brought back to life.
