Satyaprem Ki Katha

Sattu, a frustrated lower-middle-class boy and failed law student, first falls for Katha after seeing her at a Garba celebration a year earlier. He tells his father he is in love with her, but learns she was already involved with Tapan.

Katha breaks up with Tapan, and her parents start looking for a suitable groom. Sattu's family hears about the proposal and he feels a renewed sense of hope.

Sattu and his father attend the Garba celebration again and meet Katha’s parents. They learn that Katha is sick and that she had attempted suicide by slitting her wrists, leading to a hospital admission; she recovers but remains angry with Sattu for saving her.

That night, Katha thanks Sattu for saving her life via text. The next day, Sattu visits with flowers, and a cautious bond begins to form between them.

A few days later, Katha’s parents bring a marriage proposal to Sattu’s family. He accepts with joy, but Katha is unhappy and only reluctantly agrees to the marriage.

After the wedding, Sattu tries to grow closer, but Katha is distant and asks to sleep separately, using his snoring as a pretext. He discovers the snoring claim is a cover, and Katha confesses that she lied about being asexual and does not feel ready to share the real reason.

Sattu tells Harikishen about his concerns, and Harikishen urges him to give Katha more time and space to adjust. He advises patience and steady support rather than pressure.

Sattu starts winning Katha's trust with gifts and dates. Their bond grows, and Katha reveals she had lied about being asexual, though she still doesn't feel ready to disclose the true reason behind her fear of intimacy.

Katha encourages Sattu to attempt the law examination again, reigniting his ambition to complete his degree.

One night, Katha invites Sattu to share a bed, but when they try to become intimate, she has an emotional breakdown that underscores the trauma she carries.

It is revealed that Tapan raped Katha after the Garba, leading to pregnancy and abortion, and that her family disowned her. This trauma explains her fear of intimacy and her guardedness.

Sattu confronts Harikishen and goes to Tapan's workplace to lash out. He is arrested, though Tapan does not press charges, underscoring the fragile balance between justice and consequences.

Sattu and Katha escape to Kashmir for their honeymoon, growing closer and more loving. Katha remains unable to be intimate, but Sattu understands and gives her space to cope.

Back home, on the day of Satyanarayan Puja, Sattu arrives with FIR papers against Tapan and nudges Katha to sign them, empowering her to fight for herself. They perform the Puja together and begin their legal battle in court.

Sattu finally obtains his law degree, marking a major milestone. With Katha by his side and renewed hope, they look toward a stable future together.
