A prince, rightful heir to the Imperial throne, is forced into hiding when his ambitious brother plots to kill him. Seeking refuge, he finds an unlikely ally in Jacob, a weary and jaded former crusader, portrayed by Hayden Christensen. Jacob is drawn into a dangerous alliance with the mysterious outlaw known as The White Ghost, played by Nicolas Cage. They must then face treacherous landscapes and formidable enemies on a quest to restore justice and reclaim the throne.

Three years later in Song China, a dying Emperor chooses his son Zhao as successor, bestows the imperial seal, and sends him away under the care of Princess Lian. Meanwhile, their ambitious brother, Prince Shing, murders the King after being passed over as heir. The throne teeters as Shing consolidates power.

Betrayal and escape to the Silver Mountain
