What Happens in No Entry: Full Plot Summary

The whole story of No Entry (2005) explained, from the opening scene to the final frame: every key event, every twist and what it all adds up to. Read it as a quick recap before the sequel, to check a scene you missed, or to finally understand what really happened.

Anil Kapoor plays Kishan, a wealthy print media owner, who is married to Kajal Lara Dutta and is frequently suspicious that he might be having an affair, though he remains faithful and has no intention of betraying her. His friend Prem [Salman Khan] plays Prem, a rich and charismatic businessman who leads a life of indiscretions, while his wife Pooja Esha Deol is very trusting.

Kishan's circle expands as his employee Sunny (also known as Shekhar), Fardeen Khan, accidentally falls in love with Sanjana Celina Jaitly, a woman who hates lies and won't tolerate other men in a relationship.

To complicate matters, Prem arranges for Bobby Bipasha Basu, a call girl, to seduce Kishan, hoping to test the boundaries of his loyalty. The plan has Kishan agreeing to meet Bobby at his home while Kajal heads to Ajmer; however, Kajal forgets her passport at home and returns to discover Bobby in Kishan's outhouse, a place they had set up for Sunny to live in.

Kishan tries to explain that Bobby is Sunny's wife; Sanjana, who is set to marry Shekhar, also mistakes Bobby for Kishan's wife, adding to the confusion. Prem, aiming to protect his friends' marriages, confesses that Bobby was his first wife, escalating the web of misunderstandings into a swirl of arguments and comic misunderstandings.

As the story unfolds through a series of light-hearted misadventures, the truth gradually surfaces, and the three friends—Kishan, Prem, and Sunny—appear to be turning over a new leaf. Yet the closing moment leaves a wink of ambiguity, with a cameo from Sameera Reddy, suggesting that their mischief might not be entirely behind them.

No Entry Plot Explained: Your Questions Answered

The questions people ask most about No Entry (2005): what happens in the confusing scenes, why the characters do what they do, the twists, hidden details and what the ending means. Each answer contains spoilers.

Q1

Why does Prem send Bobby to Kishan's house?

Prem sends Bobby, a call girl, to seduce Kishan as a test to see if his friend will remain loyal to his wife. Prem wants to prove that Kishan is not as faithful as he appears, since Kishan often criticizes Prem's own affairs. The trap is set while Kajal is away in Ajmer.

Foreshadowing: Prem's pattern of testing his friends' morality is established early when his own affairs are contrasted with Kishan's fidelity.

Q2

How does Kajal discover Bobby at Kishan's home?

Kajal heads to Ajmer but forgets her passport at home. When she returns to retrieve it, she finds Bobby in Kishan's outhouse, which was meant for Sunny to live in. This discovery triggers the major misunderstanding that drives the second half of the film.

Foreshadowing: The passport being left behind is set up earlier as the reason Kajal must return home unexpectedly.

Q3

Why does Kishan say Bobby is Sunny's wife?

When Kajal discovers Bobby in the outhouse, Kishan desperately tries to explain the situation by claiming Bobby is Sunny's wife. This lie is Kishan's attempt to protect his marriage and explain Bobby's presence without revealing Prem's scheme. However, the lie backfires when Sanjana also believes Bobby is Kishan's wife.

Foreshadowing: The outhouse is established as Sunny's living space earlier in the film, making Kishan's claim somewhat plausible.

Q4

Why does Prem claim Bobby was his first wife?

Prem confesses that Bobby was his first wife to protect both Kishan's and Sunny's marriages. When the situation spirals out of control with Sanjana and Kajal believing Bobby is connected to their husbands, Prem invents this story to provide an explanation that doesn't implicate his friends. However, this revelation only adds more confusion to the already tangled web of misunderstandings.

Foreshadowing: Prem's tendency to manipulate situations to protect his friends is shown throughout the film, though his solutions often create more problems.

Q5

Why does Sanjana think Bobby is Kishan's wife?

Sanjana, who is set to marry Sunny (also known as Shekhar), sees Bobby at Kishan's home and mistakenly believes she is Kishan's wife. This misidentification occurs because Kishan had claimed Bobby was Sunny's wife to explain her presence, but Sanjana naturally assumes the woman at Kishan's house must belong to him. The misunderstanding adds another layer to the comic chaos.

Foreshadowing: Sanjana's intolerance for lies and other women in relationships is established when she falls for Sunny, making her reaction to Bobby particularly intense.

Q6

Why is Kajal suspicious of Kishan despite his faithfulness?

Kajal remains suspicious of Kishan throughout the film, convinced he may be having an affair even though he is completely faithful. Her jealousy and mistrust create tension in their marriage, making her vulnerable to the misunderstandings that follow. This persistent suspicion is what makes her return home when she forgets her passport.

Foreshadowing: The film's opening establishes Kajal's suspicious nature as a core tension in the marriage.

Q7

What is Sunny's connection to the outhouse?

Sunny, Kishan's employee also known as Shekhar, lives in the outhouse on Kishan's property. The outhouse was specifically set up for Sunny to live in, which is why Kishan's claim that Bobby is Sunny's wife seems initially plausible. This living arrangement becomes crucial to the film's central misunderstanding.

Foreshadowing: Sunny's living situation is mentioned when the outhouse is first introduced as his residence.

Q8

What does Sameera Reddy's cameo mean in the ending?

Sameera Reddy appears in a cameo at the very end of the film, winking at the camera to suggest that the three friends may not have truly changed their ways. Despite the resolution where Kishan, Prem, and Sunny appear to turn over a new leaf, the cameo implies their mischief and womanizing habits might continue, leaving the film's conclusion intentionally ambiguous.

Foreshadowing: The film's ambiguous tone is set early through Prem's unrepentant behavior and the comedic treatment of infidelity.

Q9

Why does Sunny fall in love with Sanjana?

Sunny, working as Kishan's employee, unexpectedly falls in love with Sanjana. The attraction is instant, though it becomes complicated because Sanjana has zero tolerance for lies and refuses to accept any other woman in a man's relationship. This creates friction as Sunny must navigate his feelings while meeting her strict standards.

Foreshadowing: Sanjana's hatred of lies is introduced as a key character trait that will later clash with the film's web of deceptions.

Q10

How do the couples resolve the confusion?

The truth eventually emerges through a series of humorous confrontations where all the couples gather together. The misunderstandings unravel piece by piece as the characters confess their lies and the real relationships are clarified. Despite the chaos, the film ends with the three friends appearing to choose honesty and renewed friendship.

Foreshadowing: The escalating arguments and accusations build toward a breaking point where the truth must come out.
