Nightmare Man

After receiving a mysterious demonic African mask in the mail, Ellen Morris finds herself under siege by a malevolent entity she dubs The Nightmare Man. Despite her alarming experiences, her husband, William, and her doctors dismiss her claims, believing she suffers from paranoid schizophrenia, which prompts them to send her to a mental health facility for further evaluation.

On their way to the hospital, tragedy strikes when their car runs out of gas. While William heads to the nearest gas station, Ellen remains alone in the car, staring at the mesmerizing sunset. In this moment of solitude, she is confronted once more by the enigmatic Nightmare Man. Desperate and terrified, she manages to escape into the dense woods surrounding them, but the question lingers—is this shadowy figure real, or simply a figment of her fractured mind?

In her frantic flight, Ellen stumbles upon a secluded country house inhabited by two couples enjoying a weekend getaway. Panting and wild-eyed, she bursts into their home, exclaiming that a killer is on the loose outside. The couples, wary of her erratic behavior, decide to contact William, who informs them of Ellen’s troubled state, advising them to keep their distance, stating, “She may be dangerous to herself and others.” He assures them of his imminent arrival.

As the night unfolds, members of the group begin to fall victim to the elusive killer, leaving only Mia and Ellen alive. When William finally arrives at the house, a shocking revelation comes to light: he orchestrated the entire scenario, hiring a killer to masquerade as the Nightmare Man in a twisted plot to bring about his wife’s demise.

Just when it seems all hope is lost, the killer attempts to finish off Mia as well. In a stunning turn of events, Ellen transforms into a demon, revealing that the true horror resided within her all along. As the story reaches its climax, Mia confronts Ellen, leading to a dramatic showdown that results in Mia killing her, only for the demon’s essence to transfer itself into Mia’s body. The narrative closes with a chilling transformation, as Mia overtakes Ellen’s former fate, becoming the new vessel for the demon.
