Gautham Prabhakar roams Pondicherry in vain, trying to locate Gayathri. He approaches a group of friends headed by Hema and asks for their help in finding her, hoping they can assist. The group is initially hostile, but they sense his distress and possible amnesia, which starts to shift the dynamic.

Hema and the others are wary at first, but Gautham's relentless pursuit and hints of neurological illness convince them to help. Dr. Rajashekar, a psychiatrist, weighs the danger of exposing him to recalled trauma. They resolve to assist cautiously, delaying any drastic steps.

Gautham travels to a hill resort in Tamil Nadu to study musical patterns in nature. There he encounters Prakash, Soundar, and Shanmugam, who harass Gayathri, a local girl who seeks refuge with him. In a drunken confrontation, Balaji is wounded with an axe, Gayathri faints, and Gautham is knocked unconscious.

In his fractured memory, Gautham believes the three men murdered Gayathri and left him for dead. In a hypnotic fugue, he swears to avenge Gayathri by capturing and killing them. The memory remains distorted, since Gayathri survived but is not dead.

Back in the present, Gautham fixates on Gayathri as his lover, a relationship that never existed. Hema and the others realize his delusion could become dangerous if not addressed. Dr. Rajashekar explains that curing his memories could birth a new, violent version of Gautham if mishandled.

Unable to determine the right course yet, they decide to postpone any intervention until Gautham's mother arrives from Malaysia. Meanwhile, Hema takes care of him and their bond grows, offering a fragile glimmer of hope. The plan hinges on the mother's arrival to reframe his memories.

When Gautham's mother arrives, his repressed memories flow back in full force and he becomes a ruthless revenge-seeker. He torments his mother and Hema, swearing to kill the three men. The fragile peace collapses as trauma resurfaces with renewed intensity.

Dr. Rajashekar devises a cure plan and contacts Prakash, Soundar, and Shanmugam. They reveal that Gayathri is still alive and that their only mistake was drunkenly striking Gautham, not murder. This new information reframes the revenge as a grave misunderstanding.

To guide him toward the truth, Rajashekar and Shanmugam entice Gautham by guiding him to Gayathri's current home. Along the way, he captures Prakash and Soundar, narrowing the suspects to the trio. He is eventually confronted with Gayathri herself, still alive and well.

Confronted with Gayathri's survival, Gautham's memories stabilize and he is cured completely. He apologizes to his mother, Shanmugam, and Hema for the harm he caused and reveals where he had kept the two captives. He extends heartfelt thanks to Rajashekar and Hema for their efforts.

Rajashekar gives a non-verbal consent for Gautham to take Hema with him, signaling forgiveness and support for their future together. Hema's emotions are mixed as she contemplates leaving behind the life she built with him. The trio, along with Gautham's mother, drive off toward a fresh start.
