Hitman: Agent Jun

Jun, Kwon Sang-woo, a webtoon artist who also works at a construction site, is unnerved by harsh feedback that his comics aren’t “fun and entertaining.” In a drunken burst of inspiration, he creates a webtoon about a secret agent, and the work explodes into a massive success. The sudden triumph brings warmth to Jun’s family as they finally rise from obscurity, but it also reveals a troubling truth: the webtoon is essentially drawn from Jun’s own life as a secret agent, a realization that threatens to pull his world apart.

Past: Jun, an orphan with impressive fighting and drawing skills, is recruited to become an NIS agent. Jung Jun-ho portrays Cheon Deok-gyu, the key figure who spots his potential and pushes him toward elite status. Despite the intensity of duty, Jun’s passion for webtoons persists, and he sketches during his spare moments. Believing that occasional drawings won’t fulfill his true goal, Jun fakes his death by leaping from a helicopter on a stormy night, then disguises himself to pursue life as a webtoon artist.

Present: In the present, Jun becomes aware of his family’s precarious situation and quickly releases the next episode of his webtoon. The NIS soon discovers that the episode mirrors a real, top-secret operation, confirming that Jun is alive. Jason, his longtime nemesis in the series, calls with a hostage demand that requires bringing Chief Cheon to the location. The agency closes in, and Jun’s daughter is seized in the confrontation.

The chase intensifies as Cheol escapes with Jun’s daughter and makes for Jun’s whereabouts. Lee Yi-kyung portrays Cheol, a former colleague who ultimately joins forces with Jun. Together with Chief Cheon, they track Jason’s hideout and stand against the danger Jason represents, a man bent on vengeance for his brother’s death at Jun’s hands. The pursuit culminates in a confrontation that ends Jason’s control over the situation and removes his threat.

With Jason defeated and the misunderstanding cleared, Jun is exonerated and returns to a peaceful life with his family. He resumes writing the third episode of the webtoon, stepping forward into a quieter chapter while rekindling the creative fire that started it all. Jun’s resolve to protect his loved ones remains steady as the story continues to unfold, blending action, memory, and imagination into a new era for his art. Lee Ji-won (Kim Ga-yeong) appears in the narrative as Jun’s daughter, a reminder of the stakes that tether his two worlds together.
