After falling in love, Ben and Alyssa quickly marry, embracing a life filled with supernatural beliefs. Tragically, their happiness is cut short when Alyssa dies in a devastating car crash, leaving Ben heartbroken.

In the wake of Alyssa's death, Ben abandons his astrophysics career to take over her ghost tour business. He desperately seeks signs of her presence at haunted locations but is met with despair as he finds no evidence of ghosts.

Years later, Gabbie, a widowed doctor, moves to the mysterious Gracey Manor with her son Travis. They hope to turn the mansion into a charming bed and breakfast, but soon discover that it is home to numerous ghostly inhabitants.

Ben is contacted by Father Kent, an exorcist priest, who seeks his expertise for a photographic investigation into the spectral residents of Gracey Manor. Though originally skeptical, Ben's own past experiences compel him to revisit the haunted mansion.

Realizing they share a common goal, Ben, Gabbie, Travis, and Father Kent decide to work together to uncover the secrets of Gracey Manor. They join forces with psychic Harriet and challenge Professor Bruce Davis's historical knowledge to solve the mystery.

The group uncovers a hidden séance room where Harriet makes contact with William Gracey’s spirit. He communicates an important message, urging them to seek out the renowned medium Madame Leota, leading the group deeper into the mansion's secrets.

While exploring the attic, Ben encounters the phantom bride Constance Hatchaway and stumbles upon a locked trunk. Inside, he discovers a crystal ball containing the spirit of Madame Leota, who reveals the tragic past of the mansion and its spirits.

During an attempt at astral projection, Harriet accidentally sends Ben's spirit out of his body. This unexpected event leads him to confront Gracey's ghost and the sinister Alistair Crump, a figure tied to the mansion's dark history.

The following day, Bruce takes Ben to the police station to sketch Alistair Crump. They learn about Crump's troubling past and his vengeful quest to claim souls, including the revelation that he has ensnared nine hundred ninety-nine souls.

As Ben and his team return to Gracey Manor, they execute a daring rescue of Gabbie, Harriet, and Bruce from Crump's evil clutches. They race against time to recover the elements needed for the banishment ritual while facing Crump's relentless attacks.

In a heart-wrenching confrontation, Ben manages to persuade Travis to sever ties with his late father's memory as they confront Crump in the graveyard. Kent rallies the spirits to aid them in the final showdown with Crump.

As the ritual begins, Bruce delivers the remnants of a crucial hat to Harriet. With bravery, she initiates the ritual while Crump attempts to deceive Ben into sacrificing himself to reunite with Alyssa for eternity.

The banishment ritual reaches its peak when Ben rejects Crump's offer, demonstrating his acceptance of Alyssa's death. Ultimately, the ritual culminates in Crump's defeat and return to the netherworld, freeing the souls he had trapped.

In a heartwarming conclusion, several of the ghosts choose to remain with Gabbie and Travis at the manor. The group celebrates their victory on Halloween, forging new pathways in their lives and strengthening their bonds of friendship.
