Fear the Night

Tess, a battle-hardened Iraq War veteran grappling with alcoholism, returns home to seek recovery. Tensions abound with her sister, Beth, but they temporarily set aside their differences to celebrate their younger sister Rose’s bachelorette party at the family farm. Tess’s discomfort around crowds makes her wary of the lively atmosphere and the guests, prompting her to keep her distance and observe the strange behavior of the house’s caretakers. While Beth brushes off Tess’s concerns as overreactions, it soon becomes apparent that something sinister is afoot.

As the festivities continue inside, complete with a male stripper, Tess steps outside for a moment of solitude. When Rose comes to check on her, Beth becomes furious, believing that Tess is hijacking the celebration meant for Rose. Tensions explode into horror as attackers suddenly invade the scene, fatally wounding Rose with a crossbow. Grieving and alarmed, Tess rushes to bring her sister’s lifeless body inside, sending shockwaves through the party. With arrows raining down, including the brutal execution of the stripper, panic ensues as Tess, the only one with military training, takes charge. She shouts orders for everyone to darken the house, barricade themselves within, and find a way to call for help.

While the women scramble for safety, Tess bravely ventures outside and confronts one of the attackers, killing him and pocketing his wallet in hopes of identifying him later. She leaves the women with tools for self-defense before heading back to the house, only to discover Esther dead, shot through by an arrow while trying to get a phone signal upstairs. Meanwhile, Perry, the leader of the attackers, demands money, leaving the women baffled as they strategize ways to survive. They agree to send Mia to escape and call the authorities, and before leaving, Mia confesses her long-held crush on Tess.

Mia manages to lure one of the pursuers away but soon finds herself in a deadly confrontation, ultimately killing her attacker to survive. Back at the house, the tension mounts when someone knocks on the door. Divya opens it, mistakenly believing it is Tess, only to be shot by Perry and his men, who swarm the house. Desperate, Tess infiltrates the caretaker’s quarters and uncovers a dark secret: the caretakers are involved in illegal drug operations for Perry and have been hiding their money on the property. Their deception misled Perry into believing that the women were his associates, leading to their attack.

After confronting one of the attackers, Tess is forced to fight for her survival. Despite only a few women remaining alive—Beth, Noelle, and Bridget—the situation escalates as Bridget attempts to negotiate with Perry, only to have him viciously kill her. In a tense showdown, Noelle pretends to submit to one of the captors, but Tess arrives just in time to eliminate the last two members of Perry’s gang. In a climactic battle, Tess confronts Perry, ultimately defeating him in a brutal final fight.

With the dawn approaching, Tess emerges from the chaos bloodied but determined, clutching a beer as a symbol of survival. In the aftermath of the harrowing night, Tess, Beth, Mia, and Noelle make their way back to town for help. Tess spins a tale for the authorities, recounting her ordeal with slight embellishments to secure her and the remaining women’s safety. Although her story raises suspicions with the sheriff, she is allowed to leave, though with the shadow of legal troubles looming overhead. Ultimately, Tess reconciles with Beth and embarks on a journey with Mia. However, questions linger about the fate of the missing drug money and the reasons behind Tess’s fabricated statement as they drive into an uncertain future.
