Eddie and the Cruisers

Television news reporter Maggie Foley sets out on an investigation to uncover the mystery surrounding the disappearance of cult rock icon Eddie Wilson. Her journey leads her to explore the history of Eddie's band, the Cruisers, and the impact they left behind.

Maggie learns about Eddie's return to music at Tony Mart's club in Somers Point, New Jersey. It is here that he collaborates with Frank Ridgeway, also known as Wordman, revitalizing his passion and setting the stage for the formation of the Cruisers.

The Cruisers are formed with Eddie, Frank, and other key members, including saxophonist Wendell Newton, background vocalist Joann Carlino, and drummer Kenny Hopkins. Initially, their manager Doc Robbins and bassist Sal Amato express doubts about the band's direction, fearing it may stray from pop appeal.

The band's debut album, Tender Years, becomes a massive success, propelling them to fame. Despite the accolades, the pressure of success begins to strain relationships within the band, foreshadowing future conflicts.

Eighteen years later, the re-release of Tender Years sparks new interest in the Cruisers. Maggie learns that a television documentary is in the works, aiming to explore the unanswered questions surrounding the band's history and Eddie's fate.
