In 1911, Cyril punishes his daughter Sophia by forcing her to bury four handmade dolls in the backyard and then burying her with them after she accidentally falls and breaks her neck. He does so to conceal the tragic accident, even tucking his gold pocket watch into the graves. The event seeds a lingering horror that will resurface years later.

In 2005, the Fillbrook house in Los Angeles is occupied by Guy, DeeDee, and their father Lester, who is preparing for a date. DeeDee notices a gold pocket watch that Lester claims he found in the backyard, hinting at a strange link to the house's past. Guy, a nerdy freshman, also collects limited edition action figures and is drawn into the story.

While raking the yard, Guy digs up a Samurai doll's miniature katana protruding from the dirt. The discovery seems to unlock a latent power in the toy, setting the stage for the haunting. This is the moment the dolls' curse begins to awaken.

That evening, DeeDee notices the gold pocket watch, and Lester leaves for his date. DeeDee invites friends Olivia and Terri over for a party, while Guy is told to stay out of trouble. She hints at a connection between the watch and the house's secrets.

The party starts, but Tom and Rich, two bullies, ambush Guy in his room, insult him, tie his hands, and break one of his prized figures. As the chaos unfolds, the Samurai doll's sword glows and the other toys around the house awaken, plunging the living space into chaos. The dolls’ supernatural revival lurches Guy into a trance.

Downstairs, the German Soldier doll pulls a tiny Luger and fires at the party guests, while the porcelain girl’s jagged smile resurfaces as the other toys move. Ooga Booga grabs Rich and stabs him with a spear, escalating the carnage. The house descends further into panic as the dolls claim more victims.

Terri frees Guy, and the Samurai doll hesitates before Guy submits to its will and commands it to stop. They move downstairs to aid DeeDee and Olivia as the chaos intensifies. The living room becomes a battleground between the living and the risen toys.

Possessed by Sophia, Guy proclaims himself Sophia and fights to protect the dolls, embracing their dark power. A flicker of Cyril’s memory crosses Lester’s eyes, hinting the watch’s influence over him. The haunting peaks as the line between life and dolls blurs.

The watch seems to hypnotize Lester again, reheating the memory of the past and restoring a momentary control loss. The spell shatters as Lester cries out to Guy, breaking the hold on him for a moment. The group steels itself for the next confrontation with the cursed toys.
