Anna Gina Philips is an ambitious young archaeologist who longs for the recognition that comes with a major discovery. Her careful work is suddenly derailed when authorities shut down the aging hospital she has been studying, a building whose medieval foundations are tainted by plague spores. Anna believes this site hides a darker secret, and she has traced a chilling pattern of unexplained child deaths dating back to 1665, the year of the Great Plague. The museum’s administrators dismiss her theories as speculative and approve the hospital’s imminent demolition. Undeterred, she risks everything to slip back into the shuttered hospital after hours and gather proof.
Nick Alex Hassell is celebrating his 21st birthday with his girlfriend Joolz Kellie Shirley, his best mate Steve Andrew Knott, and Steve’s younger brother Clive Jack Bailey. A carefree night out takes a dark turn when a fatal hit-and-run sends them fleeing into the hospital, where their fates become mysteriously entwined with Anna’s pursuit. What begins as a reckless joyride quickly spirals into a struggle for survival as realities collide and the boundaries between time periods blur.
That night, fate threads Anna’s quiet investigation into a living nightmare. Reaching for a mysterious ancient artifact, she slips, and the consequences ripple outward in unexpected ways. Across the building, the group of teens finds themselves trapped in a space where history echoes through the walls. The ancient force linked to the hospital — a hideous medieval plague doctor — stirs once more, and his malevolent presence begins to claim new victims. One by one, they encounter his evil reincarnation, their own lives mirroring the brutal deaths that occurred centuries ago. History seems to be repeating itself, but this time the clock is ticking for them all.
Anna must work against the clock to decipher the plague doctor’s secrets and halt his spread before it reaches today’s world. The hospital becomes a twisted arena, a dark underworld that feels like a surreal, modernized take on a fabled past, where the young people fight not only to stay alive but to guard their souls. The only way out is for Anna to confront the plague doctor directly, to destroy him, and to prevent his terror from crossing centuries. Yet the mystery is deeper than it appears: even as the pieces start to fit, it becomes clear that Anna herself may be the final piece of the puzzle. Time is her enemy, and death may be only the beginning.
