Arun Pradeep, a painfully shy and self-doubting young man, struggles with low self-confidence and often lets others walk all over him. He is portrayed as naive and awkward, unable to stand up for himself or make decisive moves in his personal life. His daily routine includes going to work and passing by the bus stop where he notices Prabha.

Arun falls in love at first sight with Prabha Narayan, a young woman he sees every day at the bus stop. He remains hesitant and unsure if his feelings are reciprocated, leading him to follow her at a distance, although he believes he is discreet. Prabha, aware of Arun’s affection, secretly enjoys his quiet admiration.

Nagesh Shastri, a confident and outgoing colleague of Prabha, enters the scene as a rival for her affection. He is gregarious, boastful, street-smart, and owns a scooter, making him appear to be a serious competitor in winning Prabha’s attention. His confident demeanor contrasts sharply with Arun’s shyness.

Nagesh offers Prabha rides on his scooter, showcasing his confidence and worldly charm. Arun, attempting to catch up, tries to buy a motorbike of his own but ends up being conned into purchasing a dud vehicle, leading to embarrassment and further self-doubt.

In an effort to boost his confidence, Arun explores astrology, tarot cards, and seeks help from dubious godmen. However, these efforts backfire, and he ends up embarrassed, spiraling further into his insecurities instead of gaining self-esteem.

In a moment of desperation, Arun turns to Colonel Julius Nagendranath Wilfred Singh, who offers to mentor him in finding his true destiny. Colonel Singh begins to teach Arun life lessons, focusing on philosophy and practical training to transform him into a more confident person.

Under Colonel Singh’s guidance, Arun undergoes a significant transformation, developing a newfound swagger and self-esteem. He becomes a 'born-again' version of himself, more mature and assertive, ready to face his fears and pursue Prabha.

Arun returns to Mumbai with a transformed personality, brimming with confidence and self-assurance. He is now better equipped to express his feelings and pursue his love interest, Prabha, actively rather than passively.

Arun starts to make decisive moves to win over Prabha, showing his improved self-confidence in his interactions. The scene sets the stage for a confrontation of his feelings and Nagesh’s rivalry, emphasizing Arun’s growth.
