A couple drives along a country road and abruptly swerves to avoid a flock of lambs, only to notice a lone man standing among the animals. The stranger reveals himself as Harsha, an NRI living in New York who is desperate to find a life partner and get married soon. His family in India imposes a tight deadline—twenty days—to seal a match—so Harsha heads back to his homeland with a mix of eager hope and mounting anxiety. He wastes no time, purchasing a new house and boarding a flight back to India, where a gauntlet of twenty potential brides awaits him. Although he connects with the first bride he meets, his family presses for more options, aiming to discover the perfect compatibility.

A twist arises when Harsha’s horoscope clashes with one girl’s stars, prompting Vibha’s details to be dismissed by the family. When Harsha opens the envelope to see Vibha, the path to her seems promising, but a prior, uneasy history surfaces: Vibha’s father is Subbu, a man with whom Harsha has had a difficult interaction before. The situation grows more complicated when Subbu seizes Harsha’s friend in an effort to recover a lost photograph, adding tension to the search for a picture of Vibha. Harsha’s attempt to locate Vibha leads him to her stand‑up comedy show, where Vibha challenges him with pointed questions that unsettle his preconceived ideas about marriage and what it means to truly commit to another person.

As Harsha spends time with Vibha, he begins to see a future with her beyond a rushed arrangement. Yet the wedding clock keeps ticking, and Harsha confronts an obstacle: another arranged marriage is arranged for him. He returns to Subbu to try to win his consent, but Subbu files a case accusing Harsha of vulgar behavior during his meetings with the brides. Vibha realizes that her blunt words may have influenced Harsha, and she persuades Subbu to drop the case. Still, Harsha travels to Vibha to confess his growing feelings, only to hear that she rejected him more than twenty days earlier because their visions of marriage don’t align.

The story shifts to New York, where nine months pass and Harsha has undergone a transformation. He returns with a revised mindset and aims to bridge business ties with Megha—trying to merge their companies—and, in the process, makes headway with Megha, hoping she’ll consider a life with him even as his heart remains drawn to Vibha. When another opportunity to marry looms, Harsha returns to India in a race against time to see Vibha again. Ironically, Vibha reveals she isn’t ready to marry due to a painful past experience, and Harsha plots to coax her back toward the life they once imagined together. He works to rekindle her old spirit, gradually sparking a renewed attraction, even as his parents learn of his plans and urge him to respect Vibha’s boundaries. Subbu also makes sure Vibha understands that Harsha seems set on a future with her—despite the social pressures around him.

The climax unfolds at Harsha’s wedding, when Vibha arrives for a stand‑up set and recounts their shared journey—the obstacles they have faced, the miscommunications, and the moments that tested their resolve. The performance becomes a turning point, and Megha’s circle starts to see the genuine connection between Harsha and Vibha. In a quiet, determined turn, Harsha wins back the chance to be with Vibha, and the couple receives the blessing of their families.
