In a smoky Boston bar, ex-cop Johnny Damone, now a bounty hunter, tangles with and captures Harold Kingston Lawrence Lowe to claim a $50,000 bounty from the police. In a nearby tax office, gunmen mow down everyone except Johnny’s brother, Paul Damone Paul Regina, who escapes and becomes a pivotal witness in the fight to indict the gang. Johnny visits Paul at his home, but the ambushproof killers strike again, killing both Paul and his wife Isabelle Damone Alisa Christensen, leaving Johnny with a heavy personal stake in the case.
Erik Gauss Matthias Hues is the ruthless gang leader Johnny is desperate to bring to justice, yet the case is too sensitive for full police cooperation. Jewels Cyndi Pass, the gang’s savvy lawyer, sees an opportunity in custody—she negotiates a million-dollar diamonds-for-release deal with the jailed outlaw Sarazin Eugene Robert Glazer. The plot thickens as Johnny pieces together fragments of violence and loyalty, sensing that Gauss’s reach extends far beyond what he can handle alone.
During the brutal massacre at his brother’s residence, Johnny notices a distinctive tattoo of a knife and a snake, a clue that drives him to visit tattoo parlors and eventually trace a path to Alberto Manuel [Judd Omen], a wheelchair-bound mentor whose influence hints at the gang’s deeper connections. At Manuel’s place, Johnny questions him about Gauss and spots a photo that points to Paso Dyak, an Indonesian martial art. This lead sends him to a Paso Dyak dojo, where the dojo master and his pupils push back; a fierce confrontation ensues, Johnny defeats the students and Master Kuto [Carl Ciarfalio], but pays a physical price for the fight. Jewels tries to shoot Johnny while he’s bandaging his wounds, yet he escapes and is briefly taken into custody by the cops, who release him after questioning.
Jewels’s tip about Alberto Manuel reaches Gauss, and Manuel is killed after being questioned. Tony, Manuel’s ally, arrives and, upon hearing a cry of “Gauss,” gathers a few more friends to go after Johnny, but Johnny manages to persuade them that he, too, is determined to take Gauss down. Johnny’s search leads him to a bar where he’s roughed up, only to be rescued by Tony, and the two men manage to pinpoint Gauss’s hideout.
Sarazin is released from jail and visits Gauss, escalating the tension. Tony’s friend Tiny [George Perez], hiding in the trunk of Sarazin’s car with Johnny in pursuit via radio, is pulled into a nerve-wracking chase that ends at a junkyard just as Jewels and Gauss receive a million in diamonds from Sarazin. In the end, Johnny delivers the final judgment: he shoots Gauss and Jewels, freeing Tiny from danger.
The closing scene finds Johnny placing flowers on Paul and Isabelle’s graves, and saying goodbye to Tony and Tiny, a quiet, somber farewell that lingers long after the adrenaline of the pursuit has faded.
