Fear Street Part Two: 1978

In 1994, siblings Deena and Josh Johnson find themselves in a desperate situation as they restrain Sam, Deena’s girlfriend, who is under the influence of a dark possession. Seeking help, they venture to the house of C. Berman (Gillian Jacobs) after some initial hesitation, she agrees to share the harrowing tales from Camp Nightwing.

The narrative then shifts back to July 19, 1978, where Ziggy Berman (Sadie Sink) becomes the target of accusations from Sheila (Chiara Aurelia) and her companions from Sunnyvale. In a cruel twist, they tie her to a tree, igniting a horrifying scene before being interrupted by camp counselors Nick Goode ([Ashley Zukerman]) and Kurt (Michael Provost). Meanwhile, Cindy, Ziggy’s older sister, and her boyfriend Tommy Slater are busy cleaning the mess hall when a frantic Nurse Lane, mother of Ruby Lane, spirals into madness before warnings escape her lips: he is fated to die that night.

The Sunnyvale teens speculate that Nurse Lane has been possessed by the legendary Sarah Fier, a notion that intensifies the unfolding horror. To uncover the truth, Cindy and Tommy investigate only to stumble upon the horrifying diary of Nurse Lane that poses a grim revelation: Fier allegedly made a deal with the devil, willingly inflicting a hand wound upon herself on Satan’s stone, granting her everlasting life. They also find a map tucked in the diary, which leads them straight to Fier’s ominous abode.

Upon reaching the eerie house, the group discovers grave sites that had been inexplicably uncovered by Nurse Lane. The characters delve deeper, stumbling upon a wall inscribed with the names of infamous Shadyside killers—Tommy’s name eerily etched among them. In a terrifying twist, Tommy succumbs to possession and brutally slays Arnie with an axe, embarking on a gruesome hunt for the girls.

The camp scene becomes chaotic as Ziggy engages in a prank with Nick on Sheila, leading to a budding romance between them marked by a shared kiss. However, the horror amplifies as Tommy invades the camp, leaving a trail of carnage through the unsuspecting campers, including counselor Joan. In the chaos, Nick attempts to shepherd everyone to safety, instructing Kurt to urgently usher the campers to the bus.

Simultaneously, Cindy and Alice try to decipher a route from the witch’s mark in the diary, only to confront a disturbing sight of pulsing organs that serve as a gateway to disturbing memories of past events. As chaos reigns, Ziggy ensures Alice and Cindy escape while a fight ensues with Sheila leading to injuries and desperate runs for survival.

In a climactic showdown, Ziggy, Cindy, and Alice attempt to end the torment by reuniting Sarah’s severed hand with her body—the stakes couldn’t be higher as the curse unravels and Shadyside’s dark past resurfaces. The chilling experience escalates until it culminates in a sacrifice that binds the fates of Ziggy, Cindy, and their companions together.

As the story unfolds in the present, Deena and Josh uncover the truth about Christine being none other than “Ziggy” Berman. Armed with the witch’s hand, they venture into Shadyside Mall—once the site of the cursed camp—to confront the malevolent history. With a final act of courage, Deena intertwines the severed hand with the buried body, only to find herself thrust into a haunting vision of 1666 as she embodies Sarah Fier.
