Blood: The Last Vampire

In the 16th century, Japan faces a horrific crisis as it is attacked by menacing creatures known as vampires. Amongst the brave warriors fighting these fiends is Kiyomasa, a noble samurai who ultimately meets his tragic end at the hands of Onigen, the oldest and most powerful of the vampires.

Fast forward to the 1970s, we are introduced to Saya, a unique half-human, half-vampire who has lived for 400 years. Her life has been dedicated to hunting down her own kind, instilled in her by her mentor, Kato, while she has developed deep personal motives linked to her past.

To investigate suspicious deaths linked to vampire activity, Saya adopts an undercover identity at Kanto High School, which is situated on an American airbase near Fussa. This mission is not just about eliminating vampires; it also allows her to delve deeper into the legacy of her father's death, orchestrated by Onigen.

Upon her arrival at Kanto High, Saya quickly attracts attention due to her striking presence, fostering jealousy in her classmate Sharon. This tension is only heightened when Alice, the general's daughter, grapples with her own challenges as she yearns for normalcy amidst the brewing chaos.

During a Kendo practice session with instructor Powell, Alice faces harassment from Sharon and her friends, who wield sharp katanas. Just in time, Saya intervenes, saving Alice from potential harm, but Alice's horror escalates when she uncovers the truth that Sharon and her group are vampires in disguise.

In a crucial meeting, Michael, the leader of The Council, uncovers vital evidence related to a plane crash in the mountains, pointing towards Onigen's malevolent actions. Meanwhile, Alice struggles to convince her skeptical father about the existence of vampires, even as the Council's clean-up crew gets entangled in deception.

Determined to expose the truth, Alice ventures into a local bar where she discovers it is a vampire den. Saya arrives just in time to help Alice fight off the horde of vampires, culminating in a climactic battle where they eliminate Powell, the Kendo instructor, who is revealed to be part of the sinister plot.

General McKee starts to dig deeper into The Council's secretive operations, but his investigation leads to dire consequences. Just before his demise, he shares the location of Saya with Alice, leaving her bereft as she faces the loss of her father and the emergence of the vampire threat.

In her moment of desperation, Alice seeks out Saya for protection. Despite her detached nature towards The Council, Saya chooses to take Alice under her wing, recognizing the looming danger and the emotional burden Alice now carries following her father's death.

Tensions escalate within The Council, leading to the demise of Michael at the hands of his ambitious deputy, Luke. This internal conflict places both Saya and Alice in even greater jeopardy as they navigate a world filled with betrayal and deception.

In a heart-wrenching moment, Alice sacrifices herself to save Saya by offering her own blood to heal her. This act of bravery solidifies their bond and marks a turning point in their quest to confront Onigen.

United in purpose, Alice and Saya journey into the mountains to confront Onigen once more. However, their mission takes a dark turn when they are ambushed and thrown into a ravine by a demon, leading to an intense struggle for survival.

Upon regaining consciousness, they find themselves transported back to Ancient Japan, triggering past memories for Saya. This unexpected turn of events sets the stage for a dramatic revelation as Onigen is revealed to be Saya's mother.

In a fierce confrontation that tests Saya's resolve, she faces off against Onigen. Through intense battle, Saya ultimately triumphs, slaying her mother, yet Alice suffers grave injuries in the conflict, showcasing the blend of victory and sacrifice.

Alice awakens among paramedics, haunted by memories of the nightmarish events she endured. While attempting to explain to authorities about the vampire menace, she finds her claims dismissed, and ambiguously states that Saya is 'searching for a way back from the other side of the looking glass.'
