Mysterious entities that manipulate people's negative emotions emerge, causing widespread chaos. As most individuals are driven to suicide after witnessing these entities, society begins to crumble under the weight of fear and despair.

In Barcelona, Sebastián travels with his daughter Anna amidst the turmoil. They seek safety and hope in a world consumed by dread, donning blindfolds as a common prevention method against the entities.

Sebastián encounters a group of survivors and claims to know the location of generators that can supply light and heating. He decides to join them, believing in the strength of community against the looming threat.

One night, while everyone is asleep in a bus, Sebastián drives it outside and crashes it. This reckless act leads to the tragic revelation of the entities' horrifying power when the survivors open their eyes to what lurks beyond.

Sebastián is revealed as a seer, having the ability to see the entities without succumbing to their influence. However, his actions inadvertently lead to the deaths of others as they are driven to suicide upon witnessing the entities.

Nine months prior, Sebastián and Anna first faced the arrival of the entities, prompting their desperate flight for safety. During this ordeal, Sebastián lost his wife in a tragic car accident, leaving him and Anna to navigate their grief.

The duo finds shelter in a church, where they meet Padre Esteban, who believes the entities are angels freeing humanity from suffering. This ideology challenges Sebastián's protective instincts toward Anna as they grapple with the notion of death.
