Asha, Revathi lives with her son Vinu, Shane Nigam, in a rented house while taking care of her ailing mother, who eventually passes away. Asha works as a school teacher and handles the family’s finances on her own, keeping everything together even as life throws its challenges at them. Vinu, who has completed his D.Pharm., has spent nearly two years in a fruitless job search, a struggle that gnaws at him and begins to erode his routines. The weight of unemployment nudges him back toward old habits—smoking and drinking—adding strain to the already fragile household dynamic. Asha is left feeling depressed and medicated, frustrated by the slow pace of job opportunities in the same city, and torn between supporting her son and managing her own anxiety.
