On the eve of Bastille Day in Paris, American conman Michael Mason makes a critical mistake by stealing a woman's handbag. Unbeknownst to him, this bag contains a teddy bear rigged with explosives, which dramatically alters the course of events that follow.

After Mason carelessly discards the stolen bag, it detonates, leading to the tragic death of four innocent people nearby. The intended explosion was supposed to occur in an empty office, but the presence of employees complicates the situation dramatically.

The catastrophic explosion makes Mason the prime target of the French authorities, who place him under surveillance. Simultaneously, the CIA also becomes involved, focusing on uncovering the truth behind the incident.

CIA agent Sean Briar embarks on a tense mission to track down Mason, leading them on a chase across the rooftops of Paris. The stakes are heightened as Briar pursues Mason, uncertain whether he is innocent or implicated.

Once captured, Mason desperately explains that he had no clue about the dangerous contents of the bag. He reveals Zoe's name, which he found in the call log of the bag, hoping to convey important information.

Zoe learns that the mercenary group, led by Rafi Bernard, aims to recover her phone's location, which could lead them to her. Tension builds as she tries to evade the manhunt directed towards her.

Rafi's group plots to incriminate innocent individuals by planting evidence at a mosque, highlighting the extent of their chaotic scheme. The mastermind behind this operation is revealed to be Victor Gamieux, the French Interior Minister.

Mason and Briar manage to find temporary refuge at Zoe's friend Paul's safe house. However, their respite is short-lived as Zoe and her allies devise an escape plan amidst the ongoing chaos.

During the interrogation, Zoe divulges Jean's address, leading Mason and Briar to a shocking revelation: Jean is actually undercover officer Fibbert Pascal, who they find dead. This twist deepens the mystery surrounding the mercenary group's plot.
