Anniyan

Ambi campaigns for consumer protection in Thiruvallikeni, Chennai, demanding that people follow the law. He files cases against violators, but the evidence usually favors the accused, and his efforts fail in court. His crusade to raise civic awareness remains underappreciated in a corrupt system.

Ambi's suppressed anger finds form as the alter ego Anniyan, a grim reaper-themed vigilante. He builds a public website compiling wrongdoers and begins enacting punishments. The acts are justified by a belief that a dutiful citizen must enforce the law when others won't.

Ambi confesses his love to his neighbor Nandini at the Tyagaraja Aradhana with help from Chari. Nandini rejects him, citing his overbearing nature and nitpicking. Ambi is left distraught, unsure how to proceed with his feelings and his ideals.

Distraught, Ambi attempts suicide by drowning himself but survives. After this crisis, he develops a second persona, Remo, a metrosexual fashion model. Nandini ends up being drawn to Remo, not Ambi, complicating their relationship.

While seeking a plot of land for Nandini's dowry, she undervalues the property to evade stamp duty. Ambi accompanies her to the government office but refuses to help in the underhanded deal. This event foreshadows the clash between integrity and expediency.

During their train honeymoon, Ambi observes a lineworker drinking, the same man linked to Vidya's death. He secretly deposes him from the train to avoid detainment, then reveals that Ambi and Anniyan share a connected destiny.
