CID Inspector Vijay Verma is a lonely, work-focused cop whose world tends to shrink to the duty at hand. His only family is a younger brother Ajay Verma, who studies abroad, and his two steadfast friends, Shekhar and Seema. He keeps his own heart in check, even when his feelings pull him toward Seema, a connection he quietly suppresses to protect a friendship that matters more to him than romance.
The balance of his life is shaken when he collars a criminal mastermind named Tony Briganza. The arrest turns hollow when Tony is released almost immediately, thanks to a corrupt lawyer who presents a videotape that places Tony at a totally different location, casting doubt on the case and turning the tables on Vijay. The triumph of his badge quickly dissolves into a bitter realization: the system he trusts may be compromised, and Tony is free to walk again. From that moment, a fierce enmity seeds itself, and Vijay finds that Tony’s crimes are only part of a larger, more personal grudge.
In the wake of this narrow escape, Vijay’s path crosses with Sapna, a nightclub dancer whose warmth and courage draw him in. Their growing closeness offers him a new kind of light after so many years of solitary patrols and sleepless nights, and Sapna’s presence becomes a steadying force as the chase grows more brutal. While he navigates this new bond, he learns a surprising and unsettling truth: Seeta Aur Geeta has taught him a crucial lesson about identity and time—that twins can be in two places at once, a clue that begins to unravel the mystery behind Tony’s daring escapes.
Vijay discovers that Tony has a mentally handicapped twin brother, Jojo, who quietly steps in to cover for his sibling and enables Tony to dodge capture again and again. Armed with this new insight, Vijay orchestrates a trap and succeeds in arresting Tony, sending him back to prison. But the victory is short-lived—Tony escapes once more and hides out at the home of Shekhar and Seema. When Shekhar realizes the heavy danger posed by Tony and Jojo, he attempts to warn Vijay, but fate intervenes in a brutal way: Tony and Jojo kill Shekhar and Seema, leaving Vijay shattered by the loss of his two closest confidants. Sapna steps in to comfort him, and their shared grief deepens into love, a beacon for Vijay as he faces a ruthless new chapter in his life.
Driven by sorrow and a thirst for justice, Vijay turns his ire toward Jojo, and the revenge that follows is swift and brutal. Jojo’s death fuels Tony’s fury, and a renewed threat emerges over Ajay and Ajay’s newlywed wife, who fall under Tony’s animosity-filled hit list. Sapna becomes a target as well, and Vijay acts with desperate urgency to shield her, saving her when she’s most in danger and intensifying the cat-and-mouse clash between the two men. The closer he gets to Tony, the more the line between law and vengeance blurs, and Vijay’s resolve hardens into a singular mission: end Tony’s reign of crime once and for all.
Ultimately, the police framing of justice falters in the face of personal vengeance, and Vijay makes a life-altering decision. He resigns from the force, choosing to pursue Tony outside the constraints of the badge that once defined him. He tracks Tony with mounting determination, initially intent on delivering him to the authorities, only to confront a foe who refuses to change. In a climactic confrontation, Vijay takes decisive action, and Tony’s arc ends with his death. The moment is complicated by the police commissioner’s sympathy for Vijay’s heartbreak and frustration, yet recognizes the weariness of watching loved ones die. With a quiet nod to the path he has chosen, the Commissioner welcomes the once-retired officer back into service, signaling a hard-won, if uneasy, return to the force and a grim vow to prevent further tragedy at any cost.
