Anasuya

Anasuya, an orphan with a postgraduate degree in criminal psychology, begins her career at NTV as a reporter. She is assigned her first major piece, exposing child labour in a local politician's household. To get the story, she disguises herself as a reporter for a women's magazine. The investigation reveals the harsh conditions faced by Lakshmi, an orphan girl, drawing public attention to the issue.

Following the exposé, the politician retaliates by ejecting Lakshmi from the household to avoid arrest. Anasuya offers Lakshmi shelter at her home, risking her reputation and work relationships. Her boss praises the courage, but her senior colleagues grow wary, creating tension at work.

A series of gruesome murders baffles the police, with the killer removing organs from victims and leaving a red rose at each scene. The pattern suggests a methodical killer rather than random violence. The city holds its breath as investigators scramble for a lead.

The killer targets Anasuya's elderly landlord Joseph, murders him, and steals his heart. He then strikes at Anasuya, but she narrowly escapes along with Lakshmi. The personal nature of the crime sharpens the motive behind the killings.

Anasuya's investigation leads to Govind, a hospital compounder with polio, who is arrested but released due to his disability. She remains convinced he is involved and continues to press the lead. Her persistence keeps the case simmering in the background.

Govind escapes custody and resumes his killings, now targeting organ transplant recipients at the National Hospital. The murders renew fear in the city as more victims are found. Anasuya intensifies her pursuit, drawn by the new pattern connecting the deaths.

Anasuya connects the murders to Pooja, the brain-dead donor whose organs were transplanted. She learns that Pooja was harassed by anatomy professor Dr. Amar, who became obsessed with her. After Pooja's death, Amar preserved her body and, as the investigation unfolds, is revealed to be Govind in disguise.

With the killer's identity and motive clearer, Govind intensifies his spree against organ recipients, aiming to 'reunite' Pooja's organs with her body. He believes that Pooja cannot be reborn if her organs were donated. His obsession grows into a ritualistic pursuit that drives the remaining killings.

Govind abducts Lakshmi, intending to remove her eye to complete Pooja’s body and to burn himself with her corpse on Akshaya Trutiya, hoping they will be reborn together. Anasuya, with Anand's help, tracks Govind to his hideout and prepares to intervene in time.

Anasuya, with Anand's help, locates Govind and a fierce confrontation ensues. A fire destroys Pooja's remains, symbolically ending the ritual. Anasuya fatally wounds Govind, who dies heartbroken as his obsession collapses.

In the aftermath, Anasuya clears her name and uses her platform as a journalist to promote organ donation while discouraging obsessive and harmful behaviour. Her actions transform her into a public figure who champions ethical considerations in medicine and media.
