On his first day as lead counselor at Camp Clear Vista, Sam meets fellow counselors and friends, including his ex Imani. They form early bonds during activities, setting up alliances that will be tested by danger to come. The uneasy atmosphere hints at a lurking threat around the camp.

A supernatural compulsion drives Sam to don the mask again and kill Brad, demonstrating the mask's continuing influence. The killings push the survivors toward a final confrontation and force them to confront the curse. The peril escalates as more victims fall under possession.

Imani emerges from the spike pit, having faked death, and reunites with Jamie. Chuck explains the Final Girl concept to the two remaining women, setting up strategic tension as they work to survive the curse. The dynamic shifts as the endgame approaches.
