Bloody Murder

Tobe [Patrick Cavanaugh] is one of the teenage counselors at Camp Placid Pines, joining Julie [Jessica Morris], Jason [Justin Ross Martin], Dean [Michael Stone], and Whitney [Tracy Pacheco] as they begin a summer of camp duties. Their boss, Patrick [Peter Guillemette], introduces them to the other staff—Drew Zemke [Crystalle Ford], Brad Thompson [David Smigelski], Jamie [Lindsey Leigh], and Doug [William Winter]—and the new sense of camaraderie is set against a backdrop of quiet woods and old camp legends. The groundskeeper Henry [Bobby Stuart] warns Julie that something dangerous lurks in the forest, but Patrick dismisses him as a crank, and the group shrugs it off as just small-town superstition.

Around the campfire, the counselors swap stories, including the chilling legend of Trevor Moorehouse, a camper who wore a hockey mask after a prank left his face scarred. The mood shifts when the group plays a brutal game called “Bloody Murder,” a twisted mix of hide-and-seek and tag, during which Jason and Dean convince Brad to take part in a yearly silly prank by dressing Jason as Trevor Moorehouse. The prank goes wrong, Brad is hurt, and Julie rebukes Jason for crossing a line—Jason promises to set things right with Brad come morning.

A charged personal moment follows: Jason and Whitney sleep together, while Dean, who is Jason’s best friend and Whitney’s ex, witnesses the scene with a mix of surprise and anger. That sequence sours the evening, and an unseen figure begins to close in. The next morning, Julie worries about Jason’s absence, only to be told he took a few days off. The tension spikes that night as the counselors gather to watch a movie, and Whitney is suddenly killed in the kitchen by someone wearing a hockey mask and a boiler suit.

The tragedy ripples through the camp. The next day, the counselors report Whitney’s disappearance, and Sheriff Williams [Michael Prohaska] questions Dean, who is briefly held before being released. Julie endures a terrifying encounter in the woods as the killer circles closer, and Dean’s status becomes grimmer when he is found dead—his throat slit—leaving the camp reeling with fear and suspicion.

In the wake of these events, Julie discovers a photo of her father with a man named Nelson Hammond, learning that Nelson was nearly killed in the Bloody Murder incident years earlier. The man returns to the camp years later to exact revenge, and the atmosphere grows even tenser as Julie faces another brutal attack—this time she suspects Jason. The confrontation ends with Jason locked in a freezer, and his arrest feels like a measure of relief, though fear still lingers.

But the nightmare isn’t over. Doug is murdered, and Julie’s father arrives at the scene just as Drew [Crystalle Ford] and her father, Bill Anderson, enter the fray. Julie learns that Bill Anderson was the counselor Nelson Hammont killed, and she begins to suspect Drew of being involved in the killings—until Drew’s father’s past and the truth about Nelson’s revenge collide in a shocking revelation. The tension peaks as Julie confronts Drew, only for the true killer to reveal themselves and strike again, leaving Julie to flee as Drew is knocked unconscious.

The twists keep piling up when Patrick [Peter Guillemette]—who has been presenting himself as a survivor—unmasks the darkest truth: he is really Nelson Hammond, the killer who murdered the people at the camp and who had taken the place of the real Patrick. He pursues Julie through the woods toward the main camp, insisting she is delusional, and raises an axe in a final, menacing arc. Drew intervenes, shooting him in the arm, and Nelson Hammond is finally taken into custody.

In the aftermath, Sheriff Williams tries to reconcile the motive behind Doug’s death with Nelson Hammond’s confessions, while Julie’s father and Drew are hospitalized. Jason, wandering home alone, is suddenly confronted by a new horror—another hockey-masked attacker with a chainsaw emerges from the brush as the credits begin to roll, leaving the fate of the camp and its survivors unresolved and the terrifying cycle ready to begin again.
