You Can’t Win ’Em All

In the waning days of the Ottoman Empire, American mercenaries Adam and Josh team up in Turkey with competing goals. Josh seeks profit from the turmoil, while Adam aims to reclaim a WWI ship seized by Germans and held in a Turkish port. Their uneasy alliance sets the stage for a perilous mission.

Josh and his men plan to exploit the chaos for profit, whereas Adam's priority is the ship. Their goals clash as they travel together under Osman Bey's watch and grow wary of each other.

Adam and Josh are captured by the forces of Osman Bey, the Ottoman governor. He is impressed by their firepower and the potential value they bring to his schemes.

Osman Bey recognizes their capabilities and hires them to escort his daughters, ostensibly toward Mecca but ultimately toward Cairo. The assignment pits them against war-torn routes and rival interests as they move.

British naval blockades complicate Turkish port access, but Adam proposes using the Turks' own ship once it’s returned to him, exploiting the loophole that an American ship isn’t bound by the blockade. The plan shifts the group from escort to a voyage with a potential prize.

With Osman Bey’s consent, the group heads toward the coast, joined by his daughters and their guardian Aila. They face harsh terrain, war-inflicted dangers, and the simmering greed among their group.

During the voyage, the group learns that Osman Bey’s real goal is to safeguard a priceless treasure from imperial enemies. Suspicion and tension rise as the purpose of their mission becomes clearer.

In a desperate battle, Aila convinces Josh to abandon Adam and his men and flee with her, carrying a suitcase full of jewels. The betrayal seeds distrust that will echo through the voyage.

Adam and a few mercenaries reach Smyrna port and locate Josh, Aila, and Adam’s ship amid the chaos of the nationalist advance. Tensions flare as loyalties shift under pressure.

A panicked firefight erupts as Ottoman loyalists board the ship to escape the nationalist surge, and the vessel catches fire. Josh and Adam are captured by the victorious nationalists and brought before their general.

The nationalist general offers freedom in exchange for the jewels, but Aila arrives and complicates the deal. Her presence reveals that she is more than a mere bystander in the scheme.

Aila’s allegiance is confirmed as she convinces the general to release them because the real treasure—a hidden ancient Quran—is inside the suitcase. The mercenaries are left to wonder whether Aila betrayed them for the greater prize or for a cause.
