Wrecked

The Man awakens inside a wrecked car at the bottom of a steep ravine. He is severely injured, with a broken right leg stuck between the dashboard and the door, and he realizes two other passengers are dead. He also discovers he has amnesia and cannot remember how he got there.

The Man is repeatedly haunted by visions of a woman he calls the Woman. The hallucinations feel personal and pull him back toward the car where the wreck occurred. These visions foreshadow his memories and guide his actions in the ravine.

To deter a predator, he fires two shots from a revolver found inside the car. The shots scare the cougar away and mark the first sign of his will to defend himself. The dramatic moment shows his struggle for survival in isolation.

A car radio reports an armed bank robbery by a man named Raymond Plazzy. The Man discovers a credit card under the passenger seat bearing the name Plazzy and assumes that he is the robber. This mistaken identity anchors his actions to a new, dangerous thread.

After a few days, the Man manages to pry his leg free from the wreck. He begins to improvise a splint to stabilize the injury and starts planning his next moves. The fragile calm is punctuated by the need to escape and survive.

He splints his leg and crawls around the car to assess his situation. In the trunk, he discovers bags of money hidden away, hinting at the crime linked to his current predicament. These discoveries complicate his already fragile state.

While trying to move toward the hillside, a woodsman emerges from the woods and begins looting the car. The Man attempts to stop him, but the woodsman raises his gun and escapes with some of the stolen money. The encounter confirms danger beyond the vehicle.

A Belgian Shepherd dog appears, and the Man follows it deeper into the woods. The dog seems to offer a hint of companionship or guidance amid the isolation. This path leads him toward a cave and a potential lifeline.

Inside a cave, the Man finds a working cellphone, suggesting civilization is nearby. He also discovers the woodsman's body, apparently killed by a cougar during the pursuit. He cannot obtain a cellular signal, though, keeping contact with the outside world out of reach.

The Man continues to hallucinate about the Woman and, in a moment of distress, shoots her with the revolver. He realizes that the visions have been drawing him back toward the car. This act marks a turning point as he resolves to escape the ravine.

After crawling for days, he finds a road and a dead body with an ID card matching Raymond Plazzy. The sight triggers a full memory of the bank robbery, including watching his wife, the Woman, during the getaway, and being held hostage by Plazzy. The past begins to illuminate his present actions.

A cougar reappears in the ravine as he remembers the high-tension moment of the robbery. He kicks Plazzy's corpse toward the animal, and the cougar drags the body away. This moment blends memory with the current crisis and pushes him toward action.

With the memory sparked, he finally gains a cell signal and calls for help. The sense of possibility returns as he asserts his need for rescue after enduring the nightmare. The outside world seems within reach again.

A park ranger arrives and picks him up, though he notices the dog is missing. In the truck, a memory triggered by placing his seatbelt makes him recall the moment when Plazzy and the others argued, and he used the distraction to grab the wheel and crash the car. The scene ends with the crash and a blackout, leaving the outcome unresolved.
