When Christian finally tracks Emily to Baptiste’s mansion, the truth is unmistakable: the woman he loved is no longer herself. The ancient witch Naga Soth has seized Emily’s body, while Baptiste—descendant of the bishop who condemned the witch centuries ago—has been using the cursed Ouija board to try to master that power. In the chaotic showdown, Baptiste dons the bishop’s vestments, provoking the vengeful spirit. Naga Soth lashes out, killing an Asha Sister, and Christian seizes the moment to set the board ablaze. The fire hurls the witch back into her own ruined form, and Emily’s consciousness snaps back into the present, just as a police raid forces Christian to flee; he is shot and collapses, leaving Emily to finish what Baptiste started.

Reeling from the loss of Christian, Emily, driven by grief and fury, kills Baptiste in the ruins of the mansion. She and Brooke escape as the building collapses, the charred board still smoldering in the debris. Determined to rid the world of its evil, they take the relic to the Vatican, hoping the Pope will take it off their hands in exchange for a fortune of diamonds. Before the holy man can even examine the object, the vengeful spirit of Naga Soth materialises, snatching the Pope into darkness—proof that even the Church cannot contain the board’s curse.

The film’s final image is a chilling one: Baptiste’s lifeless body lies in a body bag, yet his eyes flick open, hinting that the blood he spilled on the board has bound his soul to it, just as the witch’s own blood had centuries before. With both spirits now tethered to the Ouija board, the artifact remains an endless conduit for malevolence, suggesting that any future victim who dares to use it will awaken the same relentless horror.
