Rudhran, a hardworking software engineer, toils ceaselessly for career advancement and financial security. He longs to slow down and spend quality time with his girlfriend Nila, so they set out on a long-awaited vacation. Their escape leads them to the quiet corridors of the Vasantha Mullai Motel, a place that seems simple at first but soon becomes a catalyst for something far more unsettling.

Inside the motel, the couple slips into a moment of intimacy, but an asthma attack interrupts the evening. He searches for and fetches a life-saving inhaler from a nearby pharmacy, racing back to the hotel determined to save her. Yet upon his return, the strange mood of the place thickens: the receptionist doesn’t recognize him, there is no record of their check-in, and Nila vanishes without a trace.

Suddenly, an assassin in a bizarre costume materializes and assaults him. He fights back and defeats the intruder, but the damage is done: Nila is gone and the hotel seems to bend reality around them. The world resets, and a new version of Rudhran and Nila attempt the same check-in, the same foreboding sequence playing out again and again, as if time itself is caught in a time loop.

In a later iteration, the assassin reveals his face. Bharath confronts Rudhran and accuses him of killing Bharath’s daughter—an accusation Rudhran cannot square with his memories.

Back in the present, Rudhran lies in a hospital bed as doctors work to revive him. The film reveals that the motel episodes were not real events but a constructed vision born from his extreme sleep deprivation. The sequence was triggered when a disturbed Rudhran was driving to the pharmacy and caused an accident involving Bharath and his child. Though Bharath and his child were unharmed, Rudhran’s mind registered a fatal outcome and Bharath’s revenge, weaving those fears into the Vasantha Mullai experience. In the end, the medical team stabilizes Rudhran and brings him back to health, leaving him to face the blurred boundary between waking life and a troubled dream.
