In 16th century Romania, the vampire king Radu terrorizes the land alongside his lover, the sorceress Stephenia. Their sinister influence creates fear in the local populace, marking the beginning of a dark chapter in the region's history.

Vampire hunter Victor Van Sloan devises a plan to confront Stephenia, tricking her into opening an enchanted music box. This action results in Stephenia's soul being trapped within the box, significantly weakening her powers.

In his escape from the castle's window into daylight, Van Sloan tragically falls to his death due to an unfortunate mishap involving his son's negligence. This emphasizes the chaotic and dangerous nature of his battle against dark forces.

With the music box swept away by the river, Radu embarks on a relentless centuries-long quest to recover it. This search fuels his ambition to revive Stephenia and regain control over Romania.

In the modern era, a group of American college students travels to Romania under the pretext of studying at Razvan University, which was formerly Radu's castle. Their friend Rusty hopes to meet his online girlfriend, Draguta, as they begin their adventure.

At the university, the students meet the quirky dean Floca and the self-defense instructor Teodora, who is aware of the ominous legacy linked to Radu. This revelation sets the stage for impending chaos as ancient evils resurface.

That night, Radu returns to the castle with dark intentions, collecting blood to perform a ritual aimed at reviving Stephenia. As he resurrects old plans, the danger for the students escalates.

A careless college blonde inadvertently spills her blood on the gem inside the music box, awakening Stephenia's spirit within her new host. This unforeseen event puts both the students and the university at risk, highlighting the chaos yet to ensue.

As Rusty discovers that Draguta is the hunchbacked daughter of Dean Floca, he realizes the lengths to which Floca will go for an experiment that removes girls' heads for body swaps. This shocking revelation leads Rusty to get entangled in Floca's sinister plans.

Teodora mistakenly identifies Rusty as Radu due to his costume, resulting in confusion and chaos that traps Rusty in a web of supernatural events. This comedic twist adds to the film's dark humor amidst the unfolding horror.

As Rusty tries to evade capture, he is hauled off for a ritual intended to revive Stephenia. He faces a desperate situation, needing to protect himself from becoming part of an ancient evil's plan.

Confronted by Teodora in the dance hall, Rusty attempts to reason with her and explain the truth about Radu. However, the arrival of Radu and Stephenia creates a tense standoff, complicating the situation further.

Through a series of misunderstandings, Cliff, a moronic security guard, accidentally kills Radu with a crossbow. This unexpected turn of events leads to Radu's ashes scattering, marking a significant victory over the vampire menace.

Teodora shatters the music box, causing Stephenia's spirit to be released and her corporeal form to dissolve. This act frees the host and marks the end of Radu and Stephenia’s reign of terror.

In the aftermath, Cliff debunks the myth of Radu's terror in a lecture, while the fates of the students and professors are revealed. Rusty, now married to Draguta, faces the bizarre consequence of their child, alluding to the intertwined destinies left in the wake of chaos.
