A silent melodrama of revenge and sexual betrayal, only partly extant, opens with a lost two‑reel segment in which a woman trapped in an abusive, drunken marriage flees with her infant son. The husband falls on a knife and dies, and the mother collapses in the bush. The child wanders off and is taken in by one family, while another rescues the mother, who remains unaware her son lives.
