The Wolverine

In 1945, Logan, known as the Wolverine, is imprisoned in a Japanese POW camp near Nagasaki. His life dramatically changes as he faces the horrors of captivity while the war rages on around him.

A young Japanese officer, Yashida, chooses to defy military orders during an air raid to liberate the allied prisoners. This courageous act sets the stage for Logan's eventual freedom.

As the allied bombers approach, tragedy strikes with the atomic bombing of Nagasaki. Logan saves Yashida from the blast, showcasing his extraordinary healing abilities and immortal nature.

Fast forward to the present day, Logan has become a reclusive hermit in Yukon's wilderness, haunted by visions of Jean Grey. His past continues to linger, affecting his present-day life.

Logan's isolation is disrupted when Yukio, a mutant with foresight, tracks him down on behalf of Yashida, who is now a powerful technology CEO dying from cancer. This marks the beginning of Logan's new challenges.

Yashida offers Logan a chance to transfer his healing powers to him, believing that it might cure his cancer while freeing Logan from his immortality. Logan declines, seeking to escape Japan instead.
