The crew led by Xi Wang breaches a bank vault in Macau and steals a notebook. Xi Meng hacks the surveillance footage to escape undetected. The authorities discover the vault belongs to a wealthy businessman and realize the notebook contains an encryption key to his cryptocurrency account. They deduce the team will target a digital asset management company at Macau Tower.

The crew infiltrates the Macau Tower and discovers HK$1.5 billion in cryptocurrency stored in a digital vault. They decide to steal it in addition to the notebook. Their delay draws the police closer, forcing a retreat to a nearby hotel resort. Fu enters the resort to provide cover for the crew, and his image is captured by a barista during the confusion.

Following the near flawless heist, the police enlist retired surveillance expert Wong Tak-chong to help. Wong distrusts modern technology and relies on old‑school methods, assembling an elite team including He Qiuguo who can approach Fu unnoticed. The team links Fu to the historic criminal known as Shadow from twenty years earlier.

He and Wong’s earlier antagonism softens as hidden personal history comes to light. He reveals that her father died during an operation involving Fu, and He blames Fu for his death. A night watch incident where He protects a woman leads to Wong saving her, and Wong confesses her father was killed while trying to act heroically; the two reconcile.

Fu’s anger at his sons’ disobedience leads him to punish them, straining relations with Xi Meng and Hu. Xi Wang remains loyal to the heist crew and Fu’s cause. The familial friction sows distrust that could jeopardize their plans.

Realizing his identity has been compromised, Fu vanishes and goes into hiding. Police locate him at a market, and Wong’s surveillance team begins following him back toward his lair. The net tightens around the crew as old clues start pointing to Fu.

Wong arranges a dinner with Fu at a police-occupied apartment in the market to test his intentions. Fu is wary but the encounter reveals Wong’s continued interest in the He family’s safety and their true motives. This meeting underscores the fragile balance between trust and caution.

That night, an attempt on their lives by Hu fails, suggesting their cover has been blown. The incident heightens the tension as both sides reassess their positions and the risk of exposure grows. The dinner had already revealed the depth of surveillance.

On the way back to police headquarters, Wong’s vehicle is ambushed by mercenaries. The police manage to fend off the assault, keeping the pursuit focused on Fu and his crew. The danger confirms the crew’s willingness to fight to the end.

Xi Meng lures Fu to an orphanage where thugs await him. Fu defeats them in a fierce fight, while Xi Wang distracts him to buy time. Xi Meng detonates the orphanage, causing a deadly blast; Fu survives the explosion but is arrested by the police at the scene.

During transport, Fu unexpectedly escapes, forcing the crew to flee. Wong and her team subdue Hu and the others, while Fu fatally stabs a policeman and Xi Meng at a metro station. The confrontation marks a dramatic escalation and a tighter net around Fu.

The following morning, He tracks down Fu to a diner and confronts him as Fu tries to kill her. Wong intervenes, their fight leaves both seriously injured, yet Wong buys enough time for the police to close in and arrest Fu.

In the post‑credit scene, a third twin brother of Xi Wang and Xi Meng is revealed and places a bounty on Wong, He, and Fu. The revelation hints at a larger conspiracy and new threats looming beyond the main story.
