He, who has grown close to Wong over long hours on night watches, initially keeps her distance, revealing a personal wound: her father died during an operation that involved Fu, and she blames him. Their brittle trust begins to thaw after a sequence in which He protects a woman from thugs and is nearly harmed before Wong intervenes. In that moment, He learns that her father’s death was not Fu’s sole responsibility and that the past cannot simply be erased. The two gradually reconcile as they share late-night truths, and the thin line between duty and vengeance begins to blur.

Meanwhile, Fu’s world grows tense as his sons push back against his iron authority. Fu’s anger erupts when he discovers their disobedience and imposes punishments that strain the fragile loyalty of Xi Meng and Hu. Xi Meng responds with cold precision, luring Fu toward a brutal confrontation at an orphanage. A brutal fight erupts, and Xi Wang arrives to hold off Fu, while Xi Meng detonates the orphanage, unleashing devastation. Fu survives the blast, but the blast and the ensuing chaos fracture the crew’s unity in an irreversible way. Fu is arrested by the police, yet the danger remains: in a swift turn, he escapes during transport, forcing the team to mobilize once more.

The pursuit accelerates as Hu and the others are subdued by Wong’s team, and Fu makes a fatal move at a metro station, stabbing a policeman and Xi Meng before blending back into the city’s shadows. The next morning, He locates Fu again at a crowded diner, where the danger escalates as Fu makes another attempt on He’s life. Wong intervenes just in time, sustaining serious injuries in the process, and the police finally close in, cornering Fu once and for all.

The story closes with a somber post-credits moment: a third twin brother of Xi Wang and Xi Meng is revealed, and he issues a dangerous bounty on Wong, He, and Fu, underscoring that the ties between the characters—and the consequences of their choices—will echo long after the final takedown.
