The Hills Run Red

Film student Tyler becomes obsessed with The Hills Run Red, touted as the scariest movie ever made, and studies its lore obsessively. He grows increasingly preoccupied with the film and its secrets, neglecting his girlfriend Serina. The quest to uncover the lost film drives his every action.

Tyler's fixation strains their relationship as he pays little attention to Serina. She begins an affair with their close friend Lalo as the pressure mounts. The couple's growing rift foreshadows the danger looming over their circle.

Tyler learns Alexa, Concannon's daughter, works as a stripper and might hold clues to the missing film. He travels to meet Alexa in hopes of finding answers. Alexa gives him a nude lap dance and invites him back, hinting the project may lie with her father.

Tyler, accompanied by Serina, Lalo, and Alexa, drives toward Concannon's secluded home. On the way, he confesses his suspicions about Serina and Lalo's affair, and he and Alexa share a kiss as their relationship shifts the dynamic.

A group of rednecks who were interviewed earlier attack the travelers, threatening to rape Alexa and Serina. Babyface arrives, dispatches the attackers, and pursues the group deeper into the woods.

Inside the home, Tyler finds a red room filled with film reels and searches for clues about the film. He rescues Alexa and reunites with Serina briefly before Babyface launches a brutal assault, knocking Tyler out and capturing Alexa.

Serina discovers a makeshift smokehouse with bloodied bodies and tries to escape the gruesome scene. Babyface closes in, tightening the net around the group while Alexa's schemes continue to unfold.

Tyler wakes to find himself tied to a wheelchair as Concannon reveals Alexa's betrayal and recounts the killer's origin. He explains that he killed actors and turned their on-screen deaths real, creating Babyface and destroying the film's production. The revelation exposes a twisted family legacy behind The Hills Run Red.

Concannon's plan unfolds as Alexa begins filming a movie in the barn. She tortures Lalo while Babyface rapes Serina, illustrating the depth of the father's control and Alexa's complicity in the gruesome production.

Alexa kills Lalo during a confrontation with her father, and Concannon opens fire on Alexa in a furious dispute. The familial rift turns deadly as both try to control the film's dark legacy.

Babyface battles Concannon, while Tyler uses a camera to manipulate the killer into killing Concannon. The plan temporarily shifts the power as the family feud escalates.

Babyface turns on his father, and Serina stabs Babyface in the back, killing him. Alexa recovers and knocks Serina and Tyler unconscious, then ties Tyler up and forces him to watch her cut of The Hills Run Red.

As the film continues to loop, Tyler frees his mouth gag and begins laughing maniacally as he bleeds out. The ending emphasizes a self-destructive cycle of obsession and horror.

In a mid-credits scene, Serina lies pregnant with Babyface's child. Alexa presents Babyface's mask as a gift for the unborn grandchild and sings a lullaby, leaving the fate of the characters ambiguously dark.
