After attending his grandfather's funeral, Jim is faced with the harsh reality of disinheritance from his father, Jonathan. This event triggers Jim’s impulsive return to a life of gambling as he seeks solace.

Jim visits a high-stakes gambling den and initially enjoys success at the blackjack table. He quickly wins $80,000, which momentarily boosts his confidence and entangles him further in the gambling lifestyle.

With the tide turning against him, Jim borrows $240,000 from Lee, the gambling ring owner. Additionally, he takes a further $50,000 from Neville Baraka, a loan shark, escalating his precarious financial situation.

In a reckless gamble, Jim risks everything on a game of roulette, aiming for a chance at glory. Unfortunately, his ambition leads him to lose everything when the wheel lands on red instead of black.

Facing imminent danger, Jim receives a death threat from Lee, who demands the repayment of his debts within seven days. This threat heightens Jim’s desperation and fear as his situation crumbles.
