Dylan Jacobs faces the devastating aftermath of his mother's suicide. The tragedy leaves a significant emotional scar as he moves into a new apartment in Burbank with his father.

While exploring his new apartment, Dylan discovers a hidden grimoire left by the previous tenant. The book contains various spells, including one titled 'Wish of Desire,' which warns of a deceptive djinn.

In a moment of desperation for a voice, Dylan performs the spell described in the grimoire. To his shock, he witnesses the electronics in the apartment coming to life.

Dylan is confronted by a malevolent supernatural being that manifests as an ominous escaped convict. In fear, he seeks refuge in the bathroom where the djinn attempts to break in.

As the djinn escalates its attack, Dylan attempts to escape through the front door and a window. However, he soon realizes that he is trapped by supernatural forces.

The djinn changes form into the old man who was the previous occupant of the apartment. Dylan realizes he must endure the djinn's presence for an hour to claim his wish safely.

Consulting the grimoire, Dylan learns that he must extinguish the ritual candle at midnight to banish the djinn. This pressure intensifies as the countdown begins.

The djinn escalates its torment, taking on the appearance of Dylan's deceased mother. It uses her voice to try to manipulate Dylan, pushing him to the edge.

At a critical moment, Dylan bravely extinguishes the candle, seemingly defeating the djinn. However, despite this victory, his desire for a voice remains unfulfilled.

After falling asleep, Dylan dreams of a pivotal moment with his mother. He questions whether he could have saved her, but she gently scolds him, reaffirming her tragic fate.

Dylan wakes up to a new day filled with harsh realities. He realizes that even though he faced the djinn, his life hasn’t changed significantly.

Upon returning home, Michael, Dylan's father, is attacked by the djinn. In a horrific moment, the djinn crushes Michael's throat, silencing him permanently.

With the djinn's vanishing, Dylan realizes his wish has backfired grotesquely. Instead of gaining a voice, he is left mourning the suffering and loss of his father.
