The Contractor

SFC James Harper, a respected Green Beret, receives a dishonorable discharge from the army. This drastic measure comes after he resorts to illegal steroids to cope with a severe knee injury, marking the beginning of his struggles.

Faced with financial difficulties post-discharge, Harper reaches out to his friend Mike for help. Mike, who works at a private military firm, introduces Harper to opportunities that could provide some relief.

Harper visits Mike's extravagant home and subsequently agrees to meet with Rusty Jennings, the head of the private military firm. Rusty offers him a hefty sum of $50,000 to support his family as a goodwill gesture.

After accepting the job, Harper's deployment takes him to Germany, where his main goal is to surveil a scientist named Salim. The stakes rise as it is revealed that Salim is allegedly linked to Al-Qaeda and working on a dangerous bio-agent.

With orders in hand, Harper participates in a raid on Salim's lab. Despite being reluctant, he carries out duties that lead to the destruction of Salim's research and the lab, showcasing the moral conflicts he faces during the mission.

The raid turns chaotic as unexpected police resistance emerges, leading to a fierce shoot-out. Tragically, many of Harper's team members are killed during the confrontation, including his friend Mike, whom he heroically saves from injury.

After tending to Mike's wounds, Harper is left behind to recover. When he later arrives at a designated location to meet Mike, he finds no one there, raising doubts about Rusty’s intentions and leading to a fight for his life against a hit squad.

In a desperate attempt to uncover critical information, Harper threatens Sylvie, Salim's wife, to gain access to valuable computer files. With her assistance, he manages to leave for a safe house but is soon caught and tranquilized.

Upon regaining consciousness at the safe house, Harper discovers he has been rehabilitated but remains isolated from his family. While viewing videos on Salim's iPad, he learns of Salim's true intentions for developing a life-saving vaccine.

While sharing a meal with Virgil, the atmosphere shifts drastically when Rusty's team launches an attack on them. Utilizing his resourcefulness, Harper sets traps to make a daring escape, but at a great cost.

Once back in the United States, Harper locates Mike, who reveals that Rusty had deceived him regarding Harper’s status. The revelation ignites a desire for vengeance and prompts a plan to confront Rusty together.

In a tense encounter at Rusty's compound, Mike provides a distraction while Harper stealthily infiltrates the premises. The situation escalates, leading to a climactic confrontation where Harper seeks justice for the wrongs done to him.

During the confrontation with Rusty, Harper faces overwhelming odds and ultimately manages to defeat him. However, the costly battle results in the loss of Mike, leaving Harper devastated amidst his bittersweet triumph.

Despite the heavy toll of his last mission, Harper finally secures the chance to reunite with his family. This reunion comes after a series of harrowing events, demonstrating the personal sacrifices he's made throughout his tumultuous journey.
